With Valentine's Day coming up quickly, a lot of us still have their shopping to do. I mean, who doesn't love something sparkly and pretty once in a while? Anyone who knows me well knows that there are 2 great loves in my life, outside of my husband.....My kids and music. My children and music both give meaning to my life in ways I can't even describe. 

I guess the best way to put it is that both my kids AND the music community have given me family where there once was none....I'm kind of a Black Sheep, and don't come from a very close family to begin with. I don't really have parents, and the kids don't really have grandparents. They don't have aunts and uncles or cousins, the way most kids do. They do on my husband's side, actually, but everyone is so far away and we don't get to see them as often as we'd like. I'm referring to my side, much of whom are local, but basically strangers.

Being the Black Sheep is hard, but several years ago, I met an incredible group of people known as EST (Everyone Stands Together) It's actually considered a local talent, Machine Gun Kelly, fandom....And it IS that....But it's so much more than that. It's a movement, one that is created on inclusion for all, even those of us who are the outcasts and underdogs. We're a family, and we are there for one another, not just at shows or the yearly music festival, EST Fest, but every day of the year. I've made friendships that I strongly believe will be lifelong, and they've become the family my children and I have been lacking. I am SO grateful for my EST family. 

I decided to treat myself to a beautiful gift that combines my love for my kids and my love for the music and all that comes with it. Several months ago, we attended Machine Gun Kelly's 27 Club Grand Opening. The man himself was there, and Xander had a very special 5 minutes with him. Thankfully, pics were taken and passed along to me so I can remember that day forever. 

I decided to get a photo locket from PicturesOnGold.com that included a pic from this day that shows Machine Gun Kelly in conversation with my then 9 year old son. The front of this locket is so pretty, and engraved with "Forever In My Heart". 

On the inside, it's engraved with "Best Day Ever" on the left side of the locket. As you can see, this engraving is very well done and crisp. 

On the opposite side, there's a picture of Machine Gun Kelly AKA Colson Baker, taken while he was talking to Xander. I just love his facial expression so much here! Sadly, the picture was too large to get the whole thing engraved in the locket, but you can see the picture above. I honestly don't mind because I know the exact moment it was taken, on what Xander.calls the best day of his life.
