When I think about beautiful, exotic places that I'd like to visit before I die, New Zealand would be quite high on my vacation destination wish list. Just think about it....Cool, Pacific breezes, white, pristine beaches...And beautiful terrain that remains full of natural beauty. Plus, I hear Kiwi folks are incredibly friendly and welcoming. What's not to love, right?
Aside from being an amazing tourist destination, New Zealand also offers some of the best wellness products that Mother Nature has to offer. Namely, New Zealand's own Manuka Honey and the surprising alternative to conventional salt, Pacific Sea Salt. More about that in a bit, though.

![]() Discover the Forest #NaturehoodWe would like to encourage you to enjoy your local #Naturehood and to help encourage others to do the same. These “naturehoods” are just a short drive away, making it easy for families to unplug from the daily routine and re-connect with nature. Does it ever seem like your kids aren’t spending nearly as much time outdoors as you did when we were little? With all of the new technologies and overscheduling of today’s world, it’s easy to forget just how close—and how important— your local forest or green space really is for your kids! There are many developmental benefits for children who spend time in nature, and it’s closer than you think. Did you know? Children who play outside are more creative, have lower stress levels and more active imaginations. They also become fitter and leaner, develop stronger immune systems, and have greater respect for themselves and others as well as the environment.Check Out This Cool Experiment"A bit of back story on it: For the most part, it was a real, live experiment with kids. We really did promise that they would get to test out “the most realistic game in production,” and bussed them to a local NYC park to do so. We got to watch their reactions when they realized that the forest itself was the game!" Below is a quote from the video’s creative director that you should feel free to use: “We tricked a bunch of kids into putting down their video games by telling them that they'd be testing an even better video game. When we finally revealed that the forest itself was the game, they weren't the least bit disappointed. As a mom, I see firsthand how stressed out kids are these days and how hard they're pushed by school requirements and state testing. It was a pleasure to work on a project supporting getting kids out into nature which is scientifically proven to offer meaningful health benefits to these kids,” said Jill Applebaum, Creative Director. I have a confession to make....I have not seen a wrestling match in well over 20 years. The wrestling I remember from my childhood included greats like Hulk Hogan, Rowdy Roddy Piper, and The Ultimate Warrior. Back in those days, it was the WWF. Today, wrestling is just as hot as ever, but these matches are now called WWE matches. I guess times have changed, and the name may have changed slightly, but professional wrestling is bigger and better than ever!
My kids are definitely interested in WWE Wrestling. This is something they watch with their Daddy while I run off to enjoy a steaming hot bubble bath. They look forward to their WWE Daddy Time, and I enjoy an hour or so of relative peace and quiet. It's a win-win situation, if you ask me! When I learned that the folks at Mattel have an awesome line of WWE toys for little fans to enjoy, I just knew my kids would flip! And I'll be honest. I'd rather see my kids making their toys wrestle than wrestle each other. Bad things happen during impromptu sparring matches, and it usually ends up with someone in tears. Make believe wrestling with toys? A MUCH safer option, in my opinion.
Recently, we received a couple of these awesome toys to check out for ourselves. We received a Create A Ring and Create A Superstar from Mattel.
The character we received was Bray Wyatt. This awesome figure gives kids the power to take one of their favorite WWE® Superstars and mix-and-match body parts and battle gear to create an original, kid-designed Champion.
The included ring attire and accessories are compatible with other 6-inch figures, too, so they can change their Superstar's look again and again.
Collect the entire WWE® Create a WWE® Superstar assortment for near endless ways to build the legend you always dreamed of seeing in the ring.
***Disclosure: This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/Five Below. As always, all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** Recently, we made a trip to Five Below to see if we could find some room decor and t-shirts for Kyle. Of course our younger kids, Sophie and Xander, made out like little bandits, too. You see, Five Below is great for teens and tweens, but they have plenty of fun for younger kids, too! I'm not going to lie....Shopping with teens can be hard. For one, teens are very fickle creatures. One week, they are into one thing, and the next, they have moved on to the next biggest, best trend. It's hard for a busy mom to keep up!
My son, Kyle, is almost 16 and in the 10th grade. He is very into fashion, art, and anything that allows him to show his creative side. (Just check out his neon green hair!) Kyle can be really tough to shop for because his tastes vary and are really unique. That's why we always head to our local Cleveland area Five Below. We jokingly call Five Below "The Yes Store". Why? Well for one, Five Below carries a HUGE variety of products that are sure to please any teen or tween. They carry fashion, craft supplies, sporting equipment, books, decor, and other fun novelties. When the kids ask for something at Five Below, we usually say YES because we know we are getting great quality for a low price that won't break the bank. This is because everything at Five Below is $5 and below. Can I get a collective "Hallelujah"?

My opinions do not necessarily reflect the opinions of May Media Group LLC or the manufacturer of this product.*** As the busy mom of 3, I know a thing or two about stress. It probably doesn't help that I also suffer from anxiety. It seems I am always worried about something, whether it's what to make for dinner, how my son is being treated by ignorant kids at school, or what the sticky substance on the coffee table might be. I think it's safe to say that I spend a good amount of my time stressed-out about something.
Having GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) can be tough. At times, it can be downright crippling, to be completely honest. However, having grown up around seeing the harm that prescription drugs can do to a family, I refuse to medicate. There are other ways to help keep stress under control that are safer, natural, and just as effective, in my opinion. Of course, I'm not a doctor, I am just telling what I feel is best for MY life. If you feel that you may be suffering from anxiety or depression, definitely talk to your doctor to come up with a plan that's right for YOU. Anyway, one of my favorite ways to help destress is to drink some delicious, organic herbal tea. Mother Nature offers some wonderful herbs with soothing properties, so why not enjoy them? One of my favorite brands is Organic India. They offer several varieties of Tulsi teas, and they are all absolutely wonderful for relaxation and stress relief.

I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.*** As a mom, I want to do everything I can to make sure my kids are happy and healthy. Part of this responsibility includes making sure that we're tested for contagious disease, such as Tuberculosis or TB. After all, it's better to be safe than sorry!
Sure, TB isn't something we hear about all that often. In fact, it's not something the vast majority of us give much thought to at all. While TB may seem rare to us here in the US, it's still a very real problem worldwide. This highly contagious disease kills someone every 21 seconds, and is carried by 30% of the world's population. It can remain dormant, sometimes for years. That's why getting tested before illness presents itself is so important! Getting tested for TB has always been a pain....It would require running back and forth to the doctor at potentially inconvenient times, and the skin tests they used weren't even overly accurate to begin with. I remember getting one of these tests done several years ago, and I kept watching my skin, waiting for it to blister or "bubble". I had to be at the doctor during a very tiny window of time so they could look at my skin and make their best guess as to whether I was infected or not. Doesn't sound too reliable, right? Well, things have changed. Getting tested for TB is easier, quicker, and more accurate than ever. Rather than relying on that antiquated skin test, today, you can get a blood test in just one visit. Trust me, this is SO much more convenient! Plus, the results are far more accurate than before! No guesswork, and less false-positives! ***Disclosure:As a LeapFrog Mom Ambassador, I receive products, promotional items, and educational material to use and share as I see fit. However, any opinions expressed by me are honest and reflect my actual experience.*** As a new homeschooling family, we are always looking for ways to incorporate learning into our day. Sure, Sophie has her lesson plans and school work, but the learning doesn't stop there in our home. We also think it's super-important to reinforce learning during play time. After all, learning should be fun, right? Plus, kids seem to learn more effectively when they're entertained and engaged.
As an official LeapFrog mom, I have been given the opportunity to help my kids learn and thrive, both in and out of the "classroom". (Our classroom is actually a desk in our family room. Whatever works, right?) We incorporate LeapFrog's educational children's toys into our day, every single day. Whether it's by using the Word Whammer to practice phonics and spelling, or playing one of the many games on their LeapPads, Sophie and Xander are always eager to learn with LeapFrog, |
