Welcome to the Better Late Than Never Giveaway Hop hosted by Mom With a Dot Com in celebration of her one year blog anniversary! A group of amazing bloggers have got together to give you a chance to win some amazing prizes!
Better Late Than Never will begin on September 1st and end on September 9th. As you are hopping around, I hope you will find some prizes that you love - maybe you will even win one! Each giveaway will have a prize valued at $25 or more! ![]() In our home, we eat a lot of Mexican foods. My husband loves things a little spicy, and I love pairing fresh veggies with cheeses, beans, beef, or poultry. I make a lot of great dishes like enchiladas, chimichangas, tostadas, and even a wonderful taco salad. I also love to whip up a batch of fresh guacamole, some Spanish rice, or some refried beans as sides. It's a downright Mexican fiesta when I cook! I'm sure you've noticed that all of these meals have one thing in common: the tortilla! I happen to love tortillas. They're incredibly versatile, tasty, and good for more than just Mexican foods. I love making deli-style wrap sandwiches for lunch. They're a nice change from a conventional sandwich, and always seems to please my 12 year old. I also use tortillas to make dessert pizzas. I like to spread a thin layer of cream cheese on a tortilla and then top it with fresh fruits and a drizzle of chocolate. Yum! (These are amazing done on the grill!) Recently, I discovered a fantastic new book by Jessica Harlan, a graduate of the Institute for Culinary Education in New York City. In her book "Tortillas To The Rescue Cookbook", Jessica tackles the seemingly ordinary tortilla and comes up with 100 inventive, diverse uses for them! She offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even dessert recipes. In all of them, the tortilla is the star of the show! Woo-Hoo! It's Friday! Boy, this week just flew by! My son started school this week and things have been super-busy here in beautiful Ohio.

There's homework, projects, sports, and plenty of other extracurricular activities on families' busy schedules. For my family, things are especially hectic. We just moved from Virginia to my home state of Ohio, and we've been busy unpacking, organizing, and settling in. My 12 year old is also getting used to his new school. Needless to say, there has been a lot going on!
Having an on-the-go lifestyle can be challenging to say the least and Milk Unleashed is here to help! With handy single-serving shelf safe milk there’s no need to ever run out. You can take it anywhere at anytime! Milk Unleashed goes wherever your family goes, whether it’s a lunchbox, a cooler, purse or a diaper bag! Now I know what you're thinking. Shelf stable milk? Eww! Well, let me tell you, it's really not that bad. I used to work at a before and after school program held at the county's Elementary Schools, and we used shelf stable milk all the time. We had very limited refrigerator space, so we purchased shelf stable milk by the case. Whether it be poured over cereal or into cups for drinking, the kids really didn't mind, and it was convenient for the teachers, too. ![]() You may recall that about a year ago, I reviewed the Skuut Balance Bike made by an awesome company, Diggin' Active. My daughter absolutely loves her bike, and has gotten very good at maneuvering it. Diggin' Active specializes in fun products that allow kids to live an active and imaginative lifestyle, indoors or out. They have some great games like Dodge Tag and Pop Out Bowling, just to name a couple, and they even have an electronic children's trampoline that looks amazing! So of course, I was totally excited to learn about a couple of new products from the Diggin' Active line. While many of their products are geared towards physical activity and outdoor play, their Box Sets take indoor play to a whole new level of creativity. They have a few of these wooden playsets, including Planes, Trains, and a Cars set that have been huge hits. Now this line has been expanded to include two new box sets: A Castle and a Dollhouse! ![]() Well, summer is finally at a close. The kids are all back at school, bathing suits are being packed away, and we're settling back into our normal, school year routine. I am loving it, since it means I can focus more on getting our new home in order during school hours, and pray that my toddlers don't make my house look like a hurricane ripped through it as I try and unpack. Ahhh, the joys of parenthood. The work...Oops, I mean fun, never ends! Now that fall is here, another thing I've been thinking about is Halloween. I am very excited this year since my babies are old enough to have some fun with this much-loved holiday. I am looking for costumes, and have found some really adorable ones. Xander is going to be a Gnome. (review to come!) and I am still searching for Sophie's costume. Kyle says he is too old for dressing up since he is "not a child anymore". It's funny...The last time I checked, 12 was certainly still a child, but what do I know? I am also thinking about throwing a Halloween bash for the neighborhood kids. Our area is full of children, and this would be a great way to meet and get to know some of our new neighbors. Kyle has made a ton of new friends, so I think it would be fun to have them and their families over for some Witches Brew, spooky games, and of course, creepy music. Welcome to the Blogorama Bonanza Back 2 School Event 2012. It's hosted by Jyla's Three Of Us Giveaway, Ice Fairys Treasure Chest, Mommies Point of View. Thanks to the sponsors for providing awesome products for this prize package giveaway. Be sure to visit each blog from the linky below and enter for your chance to win more great prizes! This event will close on August 28, at 11:59 PM EST Time. Here's what you can win here: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My daughter Sophie is a little Diva. She is almost 3 years old, and she has such a colorful personality. She's fiercely independent, spoiled rotten by Daddy, and has a style all her own. Sophie loves bright colors, feminine details, and things with a bit of an edge. She likes rainbows and butterflies, but she also loves animal print, skulls, and "rocker" type clothing. She's even happy to mix the two styles together! The results can be quite interesting, to say the least. One day, she ended up clashing so badly after choosing her own outfit that I couldn't help but laugh and secretly wonder if she's just eccentric or color blind! That's why I was so excited to hear about a great line of girl's clothing from Barbie. There are tons of great items from skirts to tops to pants and leggings. Each piece is glamorous, vibrantly colored, and most importantly, fun because they feature Barbie! And what little girl doesn't love Barbie dolls?! The really awesome thing about these clothes is that they are designed to mix and match. This gives even young fashionistas the ability to choose their own outfits while still looking pulled together and hip. This is a great confidence booster for little ones and helps develop a sense of independence. I know Sophie always beams with pride when she accomplishes tasks like choosing her wardrobe on her own. She will literally spend hours going through her clothes and trying to change them herself. (Now if only she would take such a strong interest in cleaning up all of the toys she scatters throughout the house!) |
