It's been proven that kids learn more effectively when they're having fun, and in my home, this definitely rings true. Sophie and Xander love hands-on learning, and tend to understand concepts better when introduced through play. Whether it's critical thinking skills, math and science, or even simple things like counting and color recognition, the most enthusiastic learning happens during play time. Recently, we were introduced to an awesome new construction toy. Brackitz are unique, connect-anywhere Brackitz attach to traditional planks at any point, any angle, enabling builders to design any structure they can imagine. Seriously. Anything! From simple to complex, small scale to larger-than-life, gravity-defying, 3D structures, Brackitz award-winning family of construction toys puts real-life art, math, science, architectural, and engineering principles into play. We received a 100 Piece Set to check out for ourselves. Our Brackitz arrived with lightning speed, and were very well packaged. Tucked inside this box with carrying handle were 100 pieces of Brackitz fun! This set is known as the Architect Set. There are other sized sets as well, ranging from the 28 Piece Inventor Set to the 500 Piece Inventor Education Center. (This would be perfect for daycare or classroom settings!) The Brackitz Architect Set includes the following components: (60) Wood Planks (10) Blue 90° Connectors (10) Orange 90° Connectors (10) Yellow 120° Connectors (10) Red 120° Connectors These pieces are very durable, and are free of any sharp or rough edges. MAJOR brownie points there! There's nothing worse than when a kid is playing with wooden toys and ends up with nasty splinters and scratches! That kinda takes the fun out of things! Xander, my 5 year old, couldn't wait to start exploring with Brackitz. He loves video games that include construction, so he had some pretty grand ideas for his new building set. Xander was able to figure out how to attach the pieces with absolutely no instructions. He said he was going to build an alien space center. Someone's been watching too much Star Wars lately! Here's what he ended up with! He used most of the Brackitz for this creation, which is actually pretty large. He had a blast building this, and even more fun explaining what the different "levels" and "platforms" were for. Talk about a huge imagination! Xander built a Space Station, but tomorrow he said that he and Sophie will build a castle. Or was it a crazy, African Safari land using his little animals, too? See, that's the beauty of Brackitz. These toys offer endless possibilities. If your kids can imagine it, they can create it. They might just walk away with stronger STEAM skills, too. It's a win-win situation!
