One of the things I love most about the summer is the abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables. We try and eat healthily in our home, and produce plays a huge part in our daily diets. We have a garden of our own where we're growing several different varieties of Tomatoes, Peppers, and herbs. We also visit local Farmer's Markets a lot, and of course, stay on top of what offerings are available at our local grocery stores. A lot of the time even they carry locally grown, Ohio produce!
Still, even the freshest looking produce can come with something you DON'T necessarily see: A coating of wax, dirt, or even pesticides. It's always a great idea to wash your fruits and veggies before using them, so these unseen nasties aren't ingested. Clean produce is better produce, in my opinion, and it's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to what we eat.
Our favorite way to make sure our fruits and veggies are free from any gunk we don't want is using Arm & Hammer Fruit & Vegetable Wash. This spray on product safely eliminates both pesticides and wax, making your produce cleaner and safer to eat.
This is more effective than rinsing with water alone, and is shown to effortlessly remove at least 90% of pesticide residue. It's totally safe, too, as it's made from ingredients like salt, baking soda, and naturally derived cleaning agents.
This product is easy to use, too! Simply spray it on your produce, gently rub it on/scrub them, and rinse away.
That's it! It really is so simple, and gives me peace of mind knowing that all of the great fruits and veggies we'll be enjoying this season will not only be fresh, but con-toxic and clean as well.
