We head to the many playgrounds in our town, the water park, and even to the riverfront to catch some live music almost every weekend. We have tons of fun as a family, and really enjoy the beauty of NE Ohio summers. Of course, being constantly on the go means that there's a lot of temptation when it comes to food. Without fail, I always end up hearing "Mooooommmmy... I'm HUNGRYYYYYYYY" coming from at least 2 out of 3 kids' mouths. Now it would be SO easy to stop at a fast food restaurant when the natives get restless. Fast food is quick and easy, and definitely takes care of hunger. But, and this is a HUGE but, fast food is also pretty darn gross, in my humble opinion. We avoid it whenever possible. Most fast food choices are far from healthy, and are full of chemicals, preservatives, GMO's, and tons of fat and sodium. Did you hear about that 14 year old cheeseburger that never decayed? Yeah. I definitely don't want to serve that to my kids. Thankfully, I have some tricks up my sleeve. Or, in my purse, to be exact. I have Slammers Protein+ SuperFood Smoothies at the ready for any time my kiddos need a snack while we're out and about. Slammers Protein+ are fun, portable fruit smoothie pouches that pack an extra nutritious punch. These are made from SuperFoods and other organic fruits, and have a whopping 7g of protein per serving. They are also an excellent source of Vitamin C. These come in mouthwatering flavors that kids adore like Watermelon Kiwi Burst and Pomegranate Grape Crush. Each pouch contains a full serving of fruit, too. What I love most about Slammers Protein+ other than the obvious convenience factor is the fact that these contain absolutely nothing artificial. That's right! These babies are organic, which means all your kids will be inhaling is pure, delicious fruit. No GMO's, no artificial dyes or flavors, no preservatives....Just fruits and veggies. The Pomegranate Grape Crush is a tasty blend of Grape, Pomegranate, Coconut, Apple, Banana, and Purple Carrots. (Yes, there really is such a thing as purple carrots, and my kids happen to love them.) If your littles don't like carrots, no biggie. They won't even know they're in there. This has a nice, sweet flavor, and the veggies are totally disguised. It can be our little secret! The Watermelon Kiwi Burst is equally sneaky. This flavor has Strawberries, Kiwi, Apples, Bananas, and Beets. Again, the veggies are in total stealth mode. Your kids will gobble this up and will never, ever suspect that it's something that's actually nutritious and loaded with things that are good for them. Slammers Protein+ snacks are a HUGE hit in my home. All 3 of my kids love these, teen included. They are absolutely delicious, and very fresh tasting. My kids love the creative, vibrant flavor combinations. My 5 year old daughter is especially thrilled about the fact that they're organic. She cares very much about this, and gives Slammers Protein+ an enthusiastic thumbs up. Yep. I am raising a good little hippie! If you're looking for the perfect, portable snack this summer, definitely check out Slammers Protein+. They're organic, delicious, and provide kids a full serving of fruits as well as some added protein to help them on their summer adventures. These snacks really may be the next best thing to taking a bite out of a fresh piece of fruit. You can check out the awesomeness of Slammers Snacks on their website.
