Woo-Hoo! School is officially out, and summer is HERE!
Summertime in NE Ohio is absolutely wonderful. We have gorgeous, temperate weather, and there's a lot to do around here. We will be heading to Cedar Point, to Lake Erie, and of course, we will be taking the kids to local parks and festivals, too. When we're not out and about, we will be spending tons of time in the yard, grilling, swimming, and just enjoying the beauty all around us. Lots of time outdoors is highlight of the season for us, but that also means we have to make sure the kids are protected from the sun. This means applying sunscreen, of course, but we also try and make sure the kids are protecting their eyes as well. This can sometimes be challenging. My kids, like many others, aren't always kind with their sunglasses. They get bent, twisted, and sometimes, they even get sat on. Thankfully, we discovered Real Kids Shades. They offer a wide variety of styles sure to please any kid, and they're incredibly DURABLE.
Real Kids is in the children’s sun protection business. Since 2002, they have made it their mission to protect as many children’s eyes as possible from the damaging effects of UV radiation. The idea was simple. Offer affordable, real sunglasses designed just for kids. And manufacture them with the best materials available and ensure they block 100% of the sun’s harmful rays. Now, they are offering children’s sunglasses in 5 sizes to ensure proper fit and protection for ages 0-12.
As the leader in sun protection for children’s eyes, their goal is to continue to offer innovative, new products for your children. They continue to invest in product development and product design in order to further their efforts to remain the leader in protecting children’s eyes from sun damage.
The awesome folks at Real Kids Shades sent us a few pairs of their sunglasses to check out for ourselves.
Xander chose the Polarized Bolt in Navy/Red. How cute are those?! They have a very sporty look, and he calls them his SuperHero glasses. Here's more info about the Bolt style: We made the Bolt as an alternative to banded sunglasses. These sunglasses have classic temples and fashion-forward, two-tone coloring. The frames are super flexible so they can survive all the twists and turns of kid life without breaking. P2 Lens technology, provides both polarized and polycarbonate lenses. Sophie chose the Breeze in Aqua/Pink. These are absolutely ADORABLE, and I absolutely love this color combination! Breeze has a stylish squared off frame and comes in a variety of fun color combinations. A wrapped style provides protection from peripheral light. Breeze is also available with P2 technology, providing both polarized and polycarbonate lenses.
As a mom, the thing I like most about Real Kids Shades, aside from their good looks, is their superior sun protection. These glasses are designed specifically to protect little eyes from the sun's harmful rays.
I also love the fact that these are designed with active kiddos in mind. My kids have a habit of being less than gentle with their sunglasses, and these shades can withstand a beating! Sophie has already yanked on the glasses in a manner that would usually break them apart. These shades withstood that, and remained in one piece. MAJOR brownie points to Real Kids Shades for this!
Sophie and Xander like their new shades for a simpler reason: They look cool. Yes, that was what they said was their favorite part. They have also said that their sunglasses fit well, and are very comfortable to wear.
If you have older kiddos, Real Kids Shades also offer a Young Adult Line! Included are more "grown up" styles., such as the Shine, seen below. These could actually work for adults, too. I tried these on, and they fit me perfectly, at the ripe old age of 34.
If you are looking for some incredibly durable yet fashionable sunglasses for the kiddos in your life, look no further than Real Kids Shades. These glasses are well made, fun, and offer superior eye protection. The fact that they won't easily break is pretty great as well, since you won't have to rush out to replace yet another pair of broken sunglasses!
