Hey, come here. Let's talk for a second. About what, you may ask?
Palm oil is the most common form of edible vegetable oil. It is made from the fruit of oil palm trees, which originally grew in Western Africa but are now grown in tropical regions all over the world.
Palm oil can be found in more than 70% of cosmetics. The palm oil industry also has a devastating impact on the environment, contributing to global deforestation, greenhouse gas emissions, and biodiversity loss, the palm oil industry also has a devastating impact on the environment. Just Google this, and prepare to grab a tissue. It's truly heartbreaking.
Sure, you may not always see “palm oil” in the ingredients, but palm is hiding as emulsifiers and surfactants with generically chemical-sounding names—like sorbitan olivate, sorbitan stearate, cetearyl glucoside, glyceryl stearate, and more.
Additionally, palm oil offers NO benefits to soap or other beauty products - it is simply a filler. We are needlessly destroying the environment for no reason. Sadly, most major soap brands use palm oil.
One way to help combat this growing environmental crisis is to choose beauty and personal care products that are free of Palm Oil, in all its sneaky forms.
The folks at Peet Bros. make this easy, painless, and dare I say, luxurious, too!
Peet Bros. puts the planet first. The 100% palm-free bar soap contains only ‘clean’ ingredients because your skin deserves nothing but the best. Made with Shea Butter, coconut oil, and other natural ingredients for a truly luxurious, whole-body clean. Rich in Vitamin E and beneficial natural fats, Shea is the superhero of soap.
Peet Bros. will allow you to wash your hands effectively, while moisturizing them, whereas many other soaps can leave your skin cracked and dry. Peet Bros. makes products that are good for your skin and good for the environment. But great ingredients also mean being completely free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and artificial fragrances.
Some of my absolute favorites from the Peet Bros. Bar Soap Collection would have to be their deliciously scented Coconut Vanilla Shea Butter Bar Soap and their Charcoal Shea Butter Bar Soap.
Let me tell you, that Coconut Vanilla scent is so good I could eat it. Thankfully, I learned at an early age that a bar of soap in one's mouth isn't a good thing. Anyway, it smells wonderful, and reminds me of dessert. Seriously, ladies. Check this one out!
The Black Charcoal Shea Butter Bar is equally fantastic. This black clarifying bar was crafted with activated Charcoal, which is often used in skincare to draw out impurities, balance excess oil, and cleanse skin. It also has a light, clean, pleasant aroma that isn't at all overpowering. Since Peet Bros. Bar Soaps have up to 25x the Shea Butter of most other products, you can rest assured that even the charcoal soaps will leave you feeling soft and supple, too!
These soaps clean well, and rinse away nicely without any funky residue.
Peet Bros. also offers some great body lotions, which also come in palm free formulations that smell lovely while moisturizing the skin. My favorite, again, would have to be their Coconut Vanilla. (YUM!)
I also heard that there's a line of CBD products that I'm very curious about, as I am a huge advocate for the beneficial properties of Hemp!
With personal care products from Peet Bros., my skin is left feeling clean and soft, thanks to the awesomeness that is Shea Butter and the other environmentally sustainable, natural ingredients found in Peet Bros. soaps and lotions.
Who needs Palm Oil, after all?
Not this gal!
Check out Peet Bros. and see how you can help the environment while pampering yourself, too! They carry so many great forumulations, you're sure to find exactly the right products for your skincare needs.
