***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. Really, they would eat it all the time if I allowed it. While Peanut Butter is a favorite while we're spending time at home, sometimes we eat lunch on the go. Maybe we're headed to the Akron Zoo, or perhaps Sophie has a field trip with her homeschooling class. YES, she has a class, and even a teacher! While most of her learning is done at home, the K12 program does offer regular opportunities to interact with her teachers and peers offline, too. When we will be eating around others, especially children, I make it a point to NOT pack peanut butter. My kiddos aren't allergic, but I know many kids are, and that even minimal exposure to peanuts can be deadly. I take this very seriously as a parent, and I try and make sure that I never accidentally put anyone else's child in a life-threatening situation. I've been searching high and low for a peanut butter alternative that my kids would actually like. This has not been the easiest of tasks, by the way. Thankfully, we discovered Justin's Nut Butters. They offer not only awesome Peanut Butters, but Almond Butter, too! Justin's products are made from organic, non-GMO ingredients, and are loaded with protein and nutty deliciousness. I love the fact that these products don't contain artificial dyes or flavors, and are preservative-free. That's right, folks. When choosing Justin's Nut Butters, you are tasting only the best that Mother Nature has to offer, without any added junk. ***Please note: While the Almond Butters DO NOT contain ANY peanut products, and very strict sanitation is adhered to between batches, it does say on the jar that it may contain trace amounts of peanuts. This is ONLY because these butters are processed in a plant that also handles peanuts. If your child is allergic, please consult your physician if you have any concerns.*** We picked up some of Justin's Almond Butters, in both the Honey and Maple flavors. At first, the kids thought it was weird. After all, Almonds have a different texture and consistency than peanuts. The flavor is definitely different, too. But, once I made them some simple Almond Butter Sandwiches, they quickly changed their tune and gave these products a thumbs up. I tried these nut butters, too. I have to say, I like them a lot! Now while these are flavored, they are not sickeningly sweet, and the honey or maple flavoring does not overpower the amazing Almond flavor. The Almonds are definitely the star of the show here! My kids love their Justin's Almond Butter in sandwiches, smeared on celery sticks, or even paired with fresh apple slices. Basically, anywhere you'd use peanut butter, you can use Justin's Almond Butters. If you're not too keen on the idea of Almond Butter, that's okay! Justin's also carried peanut butters, and even delicious Peanut Butter Cups. (Obviously, these DO contain peanut products.) I have not been able to find these products anywhere here in my local area, but if they're as good as the Almond Butter, I am sure they're absolutely to die for! Overall, we're definitely loving our Justin's Nut Butters experience. The products we were able to locate were fresh, delicious, and definitely a great, kid-pleasing alternative to peanut butter. I love the fact that I can serve this without any Mommy Guilt, since they're made from only the highest quality, organic ingredients. Have YOU tried Justin's products? What are your favorites?
