Do your kids love building and creating? Mine sure do!
Sophie, Xander, and my teen, Kyle, all really enjoy putting their hands and minds to work to create buildings, vehicles, and anything else they can dream of. Of course that means we have LOADS of K'NEX here. No, really. LOADS. Thank goodness for those big, plastic storage bins to keep all the pieces in! They are definitely a lifesaver! Anyway, we recently got to check out a couple of brand new offerings from the folks at K'NEX. These building sets are super-cool, and allow kids to soar, race, and put their engineering skills to the test. The K'NEX Turbo Jet 2-in1 Building Set and K'NEX Revvin' Racecar 2-in-1 Building Sets are designed specifically for creative kids that love things that MOVE!
My kids started out with the Revvin' Racecar.
2-in-1! Build a revvin' racecar, then build a powerful ATV. Includes 370 K'NEX rods & connectors are included, plus a battery-powered motor. Build a super-fast, motorized racecar! Then take it apart and build a powerful motorized ATV than can take on tough terrain. All K'NEX rods & connectors are proudly made in the USA. Ages 7+. Requires 2 "AA" batteries, not included. This set comes with 370 pieces, and allows for 2 different builds. There's the racecar that you can see below, and also an ATV design. It includes a battery powered motor that allows the vehicle to move forward and backward. Pretty cool, don't you agree?
Here are the details about the Revvin' Racecar 2-in-1 Building Set:
This build was pretty challenging for my little ones, but Daddy was around to help. With a little adult assistance, they had their Revvin' Racecar ready to roll in no time flat! This nifty racecar moves quite well, thanks to the motor. It's not super-quick, but it was definitely fast enough to get giggles and excitement out of my kiddos.
Next, we built the K'NEX Turbo Jet 2-in-1 Building Set.
2-in-1! Build a supersonic jet, then build a heli-plane with rotating propellers. Over 400 K'NEX rods & connectors are included, plus a battery-powered motor. Build a jet with motorized, rolling wheels and an open-and-close cockpit! Then take it apart and build a heli-plane with working, motorized propellers that you can adjust to spin vertically or horizontally. All K'NEX rods & connectors are proudly made in the USA. Ages 7+. Requires 2 "AA" batteries, not included. This kit also allows for 2 separate builds. I love these 2-in-1 kits! So much value for my money, and extra fun for the kids. Anyway, the Turbo Jet comes with 402 pieces, and also comes equipped with a battery powered motor.
Here are the features of this awesome building set:
Overall, we're absolutely delighted with these fun-tastic 2-in-1 Building Sets from K'NEX. They are loads of fun to create, and I love the fact that they are motorized to help kids bring their creations to life.
Of course kids aren't limited to the suggested builds. One of the best things about K'NEX is that there are endless possibilities. If a kid can dream it, they can create it with K'NEX. What's next? Maybe a spaceship? An underwater submarine? I can't wait to see what the kids can think of next with their favorite building toys, K'NEX! Connect with K'NEX :
