***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my post. All opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** It's that time of year, everyone! The Holiday shopping season is upon us! (At least it is if you're like me and get an early start to avoid the mad rush of frazzled, last-minute shoppers in December!) For the 2017 Holiday season, I will be featuring tons of great gift ideas for babies, kids, men, women, pets, and even for the person who has everything. We all have some of those on our gift lists, don't we? There will even be loads and loads of chances to win many of the gifts I am featuring. How cool is that?! You can check out my 2017 Holiday Gift Guide at any time from now till Christmas. Make sure to check often, as it will be growing by the day! Today, I want to talk about something that everyone loves: Board Games! Toysmith, one of my favorite toy brands, has a line of board games called Helvetiq, which includes everything from sophisticated party games for adults and board games that kids and/or the whole family can enjoy. Variety is the spice of life, after all! The awesome folks from Toysmith sent us a couple of Helvetiq's best selling games to check out for ourselves. Included were the fun, family game The Mazins as well as the much more adult, party style game, Wine IQ. I'd love to tell you more about these great games! THE MAZINS The Mazin family is on an exciting trip to the city to see and do marvelous things. Help family members find attractions around town to win trophies- a quick roll of the die determines where they’ll go next! Help kids develop focus along with hand/eye coordination and speed. The multiple play levels fit to adjust to different age groups perfect for the whole family. Suitable for ages 3-99, 1-5 players, and each round takes 10-20 minutes. Set includes maze tiles, destination tokens, point tokens, and large wooden dice. MSRP: $19.99 | Ages 3 to 99-Years-Old WINE IQ Raise a glass if love wine! How about games? Love both? Even better! BUT…you don’t even have to be a wine lover to win! Finally an IQ game that can be enjoyed without having any previous knowledge of the topic (however it doesn’t hurt, wink wink!). In round one, players choose 24 multiple-choice questions from over 400 options, receiving positive points for correct answers, or negative points for wrong answers. Round two is played with the same 24 questions, but now test players’ memory of the correct answers. Crush the competition with your excellent memory! Graph your points to reveal your final WineIQ. Perfect for a hostess gift and pairs well with any bottle of wine! Made for ages 21-99, 2-12 players, and takes 30-45 minutes. Game includes 200 double sided question cards, graph paper, and 4 colored pencils. MSRP: $19.99 | Ages 21-99 OUR THOUGHTS : These games are both loads of fun, but definitely cater to very different crowds. The Mazins is a family-friendly game that is fast-paced, ever-changing, and tons of fun for players of all ages. We have really enjoyed playing this game with all 3 kids, and amazingly, they all love it...Even though their ages range from 6 to 17! Wine IQ is more for the adult crowd. I admit, I am not a drinker. Like, at all. Not a drop, ever....So I bet you can guess that I wasn't winning much here. That's okay, though, because I have family that thinks wine is as essential as water, and this game will be part of their Christmas gift this year. Overall, I am definitely digging these board games from Helvetiq. They're fun, innovative, and simple enough for anyone to learn and understand quickly. These would be wonderful gifts, or perfect to have on hand for your upcoming Holiday gatherings! How to Connect :You can lean more about the Helvetiq line of games on the Toysmith website.
