Are you in the market for a new mattress?
Maybe your current mattress is old, lumpy, or just plain uncomfortable? Perhaps you're looking for better sleep technology like memory foam or gel to help address those nights spent tossing and turning? Well, there's a new mattress on the block, and it's made by the folks at Nature's Sleep! (If you aren't familiar with Nature's Sleep, let me be the first to tell you that this brand is Ah-MAY-zing.) Their newest offering, the GhostBed, promises supernatural comfort at a price that is surprisingly budget-friendly. Their Queen Sized mattress is only $750, and shipping is FREE! They even offer a 101 night risk-free sleep trial, so you can try out your new GhostBed mattress before you commit to buying. Sounds pretty awesome, don't you agree?
What makes GhostBed so special? Glad you asked!
Each element of the GhostBed has a distinct and important function. The outer cover is a blend of quality fabrics, which keeps you cool throughout the night by wicking away heat and moisture. The cover is removable and machine washable so you can keep it fresh and sanitary. Having the proper core is essential to a high quality mattress. The top comfort layer is made of the finest latex to provide the ideal level of surface softness while naturally absorbing pressure without any heat buildup. The gel memory foam layer supplies 100% pressure-relieving material with gel beads embodied throughout. These gel beads absorb heat, keeping your sleeping environment perfectly suited to your needs. Finally, the GhostBed base foam layer provides unmatched support. It was developed to be firm enough for good spinal alignment without creating an uncomfortably hard-feeling mattress. Our Ghost Bed Review :
The awesome folks at Nature's Sleep sent us a Queen Sized GhostBed Mattress and Foundation to check out for ourselves.
These arrived very quickly, and came in boxes that seemed WAY too small for what they contained. Unfortunately, my husband tossed the boxes before I could get pictures. He thought he was "doing me a favor" by getting everything set up while I was out running errands. Not so much. Anyway, yes, a mattress and a foundation were both shipped in pretty standard shipping boxes. The foundation needed assembly, which was SUPER simple, and the mattress was rolled up and vacuum-sealed, which is how it fit into such a deceptively small looking box! As you can see from the picture above, the foundation is made completely of wooden slats. These were incredibly easy to assemble, and only required some screws, which were included, and a drill. Once the foundation was put together, there's a fabric cover that slips right onto it. Easy, peasy! My husband, who is the assembler of the house, was actually delighted with their foundation design. This sure beats box springs that won't fit up our very narrow stairwell!
Once you have the foundation all set up and good to go, the mattress just goes right on top of it. Now let me say, this mattress is HEAVY. It's made from incredibly durable materials like memory foam, gel, and latex, so it's got substantial weight to it.
They say that it can take the GhostBed several hours to "inflate", but we didn't find this to be the case. Once we released our mattress from it's vacuum-sealed wrapping, it expanded rapidly and was ready to sleep on almost immediately.
The GhostBed Mattress is 11" thick, and has a removable cover. The materials used in the cover are extremely durable, which is a HUGE plus in my home since we have dogs, cats, and of course, kids! I don't need to freak out of there's a spill or an accident, since this cover is so simple to clean.
We were especially excited about the fact that Ghost Bed includes a gel layer for added, cooling comfort. My husband, Dan, is a "night sweater". For some reason, once he falls asleep, he starts sweating like crazy, no matter what time of year it is. This is unpleasant not only for him, but for me, as well. There's nothing worse than getting slimed in the middle of the night, or rolling over and landing in a puddle of cold, wet sweat. Yuck! Since the GhostBed offers this special gel layer, it has definitely helped Dan stay cooler, meaning less sweat. This is definitely one of our favorite features of the GhostBed!
Now let's talk comfort.
I have to admit, I have been absolutely spoiled by my last 2 mattresses. I am used to sleeping on both the Nature's Sleep St. Cloud Luxe and the Nature's Sleep Fiji Gel mattresses. Both of these mattresses are very luxurious and incredibly plush. These mattresses are ones that you kind of just sink into, like a cloud. The GhostBed has a much different feel to it. It took me a couple of weeks to get used to it, to be completely honest. While the GhostBed offers proper support, it's also much, much more firm than my Nature's Sleep mattresses. It's relatively soft, and it conforms to your body in a way that offers support and comfort, but you don't just sink into it. This is probably the firmest memory foam mattress I have ever encountered, but that's not necessary a bad thing. Dan suffers from pretty regular back pain, and the support offered by the GhostBed has been absolutely wonderful for him, since he prefers a firmer sleep surface to begin with. He has been waking up feeling more rested, and his back pain has improved significantly, too.
My kids love my GhostBed, too! Sophie and Xander have their own beds, but I have found little people snuggled in MY bed recently, since they think it's very comfortable. Plus, it's called a GhostBed, and that makes it unbelievably awesome in their eyes. They actually think that if they sleep in "Mommy's comfy Ghost Bed", they will be protected from....ghosts....Alrighty then!
Another reason my kids love our GhostBed is because they can jump on the bed and act like little animals without waking their Daddy up. Since this mattress is so well made and durable, there is very little motion transfer. They can jump on one side of the bed, and Dan is left snoring, undisturbed on the other.
Overall, I am pretty impressed with the new GhostBed from Nature's Sleep. It's definitely very well made, from very high-quality materials. I love the durability, and the fact that it comes with a whopping 20 YEAR WARRANTY.
I also love the fact that it's helped Dan stay cooler at night and that his aches and pains have been greatly reduced. We also love the ease of assembly, and the ingenious design of the wooden foundation. Dan actually raved about this the whole time he was putting it together, and said that ALL mattress foundations should follow this simple design. The only thing I would change? Well, I would have loved for our GhostBed to be just a tad bit softer, since I am so used to very plush mattresses. I'm still able to get very comfortable on our GhostBed, though, and I am sure my body is still adjusting to the change. If you're looking for a very durable mattress that offers the benefits of memory foam, latex, and gel technologies at a price that won't break the bank, definitely check out what the GhostBed has to offer. I think you'll be as pleasantly surprised as we are! And remember, trying GhostBed is RISK-FREE, since they offer a 101 night sleep trial! How to Connect Plus Exclusive Savings:
