Do you love the MCU?
My husband and teens are OBSESSED, so when we got an exclusive invitation to attend a special, advance screening of MARVEL's latest addition, ANT-MAN and the WASP QUANTUMANIA, we couldn't have been more excited. If you're not familiar with this somewhat lesser known character in the MARVEL Cinematic Universe, you can catch up by watching ANT MAN, ANT MAN and the WASP, and The Avengers: End Game. You're welcome.
Anyway, we were beyond thrilled to catch this viewing of ANT-MAN and the WASP: QUANTUMANIA. You see, this story is an important one, and shakes up the MARVEL Universe like you wouldn't believe by introducing the Quantum Realm.
This place is new. It is vast. It is terrifying. This movie is a new beginning, and the start of a new battle against Kang, one of the most daunting villains yet. Check out the official trailer below:
In the film, which officially kicks off phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope's parents Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.
Jonathan Majors joins the adventure as Kang. (He's scary, y'all. He gave me the heebie-jeebies with his performance, to be completely honest.)
Our thoughts?
We loved this film! It was action packed, had some good humor, and it tied this new realm into the MCU flawlessly. The graphics and special effects were wonderfully done, and made us feel as though we, too, were traveling through galaxies and dimensions unknown. The acting was great. I loved seeing Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Douglas in their roles. Of course Paul Rudd was amazing, as usual. He's such a treasure, honestly. But the best performance, in my humble opinion? Jonathan Majors as Kang. He was utterly ominous, and not someone I'd want to cross paths with in a dark alley somewhere deep within the Quantum Realm. He has a LOT of unresolved issues, and he can travel through time and history to exact his evil plans. Will ANT-MAN and the WASP, or even any of the other MARVEL heroes be able to stop him? Who knows? Guess we will have to follow this new arc to find out. My family is looking forward to seeing where this new adventure takes us.
Go check out ANT-MAN and the WASP: QUANTUMANIA NOW in a theater near you!
