So I'll tell you the good, the bad, and the ugly, without any spoilers, of course. I always hate it when people spoil a movie for me by giving away key details or plot-twists. Good: The humor! There are loads of jokes to be found here, that both the kids and adults will enjoy. (Some go over the kids' heads and are probably there for adult enjoyment, like in most family movies.) It was pretty slapstick at times, which the hubby and kids enjoyed a lot. We all found ourselves laughing quite a bit. The characters, costumes, and settings are all spot on, and exactly the high quality you'd expect to find from Disney. The film quality is really amazing, as usual, and the characters and plot are quite authentic feeling. Bad: Some scenes, including the ending, seemed forced and a little drawn out. This is very much worth seeing, but there are some definitely slow moments. Despite a few new faces, parts of this film seem predictable and a little stale, especially if you've seen the other movies in the franchise multiple times. Overall: This is a good movie, while not my favorite, in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. It was worth watching to continue the story, and my family did enjoy it. I am glad, however, we waited for the Blu-Ray release over seeing it in theaters. I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
