Did you know that today, August 6th, is National Root Beer Float Day?
Well, it is! And what better way to celebrate the end of summer break than with an A&W Root Beer Float party? Root Beer Floats are a classic that has remained a treat for generations, and for good reason: Root Beer Floats are amazing. After all, who can resist the taste-bud pleasing combo of bubbly root beer and creamy, vanilla ice cream?
No one? Exactly. They're just that amazingly good.
The awesome folks at A&W sent us this adorable Root Beer Float Kit to help us celebrate National Root Beer Float Day in style. Included were these really neat, temperature reactive mugs, an ice cream scoop, and some fun straws. YES, they're paper rather than plastic. That was actually the very first thing I noticed upon receiving this kit. Well done, A&W.
So we headed to the corner store to grab some A&W Root Beer and some creamy, Vanilla ice cream for our flavorful summer celebration.
We chose to keep things old school, and made A&W Original Root Beer Floats.
They're SUPER simple to make, and are easy enough that even the younger kiddos can help!
1. Start with a frosted mug, if available.
2. Add 2 scoops of your favorite Vanilla ice cream.
3. Fill to the top with A&W Root Beer.
Easy, peasy and absolutely delicious summer fun!
Once our Root Beer Floats were ready, we spent a nice evening on the deck, sipping out floats and enjoying quality time together as a family. There were jokes told, games played, and of course, Root Beer Float mustaches galore.
The unique, creamy taste of A&W Root Beer is a simple treat that creates fun, care-free experiences for families and can help make any moment special. It could be a birthday, an end of summer soiree, or even just a casual night together with family and friends. Regardless of the occasion, A&W Root Beer Floats are the creamy, cold, bubbly treat that has been a mainstay in memory making for many, many years.
Simple, delicious family fun? I'll drink to that!
Make sure you do, too, this National Root Beer Float Day!
