Having the confidence to walk straight out of the house with no makeup on is something only movie and TV stars do, right? Going make-up free is something we’d all love the confidence to do, but when you’re feeling a little self-conscious about the condition of your skin, or your lack of eyelashes, then it’s not always that simple!
So what is it that gives these stars the confidence to step out of the door completely fresh faced? How do they do it? Do you need to apply some kind of BB or CC cream? Do you need mascara? Well, here you’ll find 4 ways you can enhance your natural beauty and feel fresh and fabulous whilst totally makeup free. Exfoliate! The first rule of glowing skin? EXFOLIATE. Exfoliating gets rid of all those dead skin cells which are usually the main reason behind dull, lifeless looking skin. When you exfoliate on the regular, you’re guaranteeing yourself gorgeously luminous skin. If have “normal” type skin then you can exfoliate 2-3 times a week. However, if your skin is a little more sensitive, then its recommended only 1-2 times – remember, you’re the best judge of how much your skin can handle. If you choose an exfoliator that’s packed full of natural ingredients then your skin will not only look great but smell amazing too! Don’t forget your lips! Wanting luscious lips? Well, they’re also going to need exfoliating! Why? Exfoliating your lips will remove all those dead skin cells and it’ll help to bring out the natural pigment in your lips. You can use the same exfoliator as the one you use on your face – or even use an old toothbrush to reveal your hidden, totally kissable lips. Make your eyes pop Nothing says natural beauty then a pair of gorgeously fresh eyes. Your eyes reveal a lot about your general health, so you mustn’t neglect them in your beauty regime. I know it’s not easy when you’ve been up doing night feeds and soothing your younger children who are struggling to settle… So, try soothing your eyes with a couple of slices of cool cucumber, or some cooled green or camomile tea teabags. Do this for 10-15 minutes each day to help reduce the redness and puffiness all us mums struggle with. Hit the gym Don’t panic – you don’t need an expensive gym membership or loads of free time to put this into your daily routine. Just as little as 20 minutes, and some space in the living room. Exercising regularly gets your blood pumping, which makes your skin naturally glow. Exercising has obvious health benefits but it also gives you more confidence, improves your posture and can help to tone and shape your body. Some simple Pilates or yoga videos on YouTube are the best way to get started. Or head out for a brisk walk with the buggy and tackle a few steep hills. As long as you get moving every day, you’ll start to notice the difference!
