Cats are animals that like to stay in a clean environment. Your kitten will choose to defecate in a specific spot from a very young age. For cats that are primarily indoors, there is the need to have a litter box. To train your kitten to use the litter box all you need to do is just leave the litter box in an accessible place. Kittens are usually drawn to the box out of curiosity. If your kitten does not go to the box by themselves, you can place your kitten in the box after meals. For smaller kittens, you can stimulate the motion by rubbing their anus with a wet piece of cotton. Keep the box in the place where your kitten might have defecated before. If your kitten has defecated somewhere outside the box, you can place a small piece inside the box. The smell will encourage your kitten to go to the box next time. If your cat is not taking to the box, they might need a vet visit, and you might have to buy cat medicine online to make them feel better.
When you litter train your cat, you can keep an eye on their poop and pee. If your cat is not doing well, then you can notice a change in their stool and urine. Your cat might scatter the litter all around the house. Usually, a cat does not engage in digging their litter unless something is wrong with them. You can choose to toilet train your cat. There are special litter boxes that fit on the rim of the toilet. The toilet training litter boxes slowly encourage your kitten to use the toilet. Toilet training should be done when your kitten is slightly bigger. Small kittens will not be able to reach the toilet bowl and might fall inside by mistake.
