As an Infantino Test Drive Mom, I have been able to review and assortment of awesome products geared towards my babies. This time around, I got to try the Infantino Sync Comfort Wrap baby carrier! I have to admit, this product intimidated me at first. I am not new to baby-wearing, but I AM new to wrap-style baby carriers. I have only tried structured carriers in the past. You see, I get very easily confused when it comes to wrap-style carriers. I always thought they would be too difficult to get on. So when my Sync Comfort Wrap baby carrier arrived, I admit, I felt a little bit of panic. However, I had always wanted to try a carrier like this, so I saw this as a great opportunity to try something new. The Infantino Sync Comfort Wrap Carrier is absolutely gorgeous. I love the fun red and black print on the body of the carrier. This is totally my style, since red and black are among my favorite color combinations. Its design is also unique, as it features a lumbar belt that buckles for added comfort and stability. This is something you don't usually find in wrap-style carriers. This is awesome, since it allows baby's weight to be evenly distributed and helps prevent a parent's back and shoulders from getting sore. The carrier features woven panels and soft straps that form to your body's shape and keep baby close and secure. Another very cool feature of the Sync carrier is that it allows 4 different carry positions! That's right, with the Sync, you can choose the Infant Hug Position for smaller babies, or for older babies, you can choose front carry (baby facing in), hip carry, or you can even carry baby on your back! This carrier is suitable for babies 8-36lbs! I will admit, I had some initial difficulty figuring out how to wear the carrier. I chalk this up to being a rookie in the world of wrap style carriers. I watched the instructional video a few times, and still had some trouble. The video is very straightforward, but I am just not very adept at following instructions sometimes. This is one of my weaknesses, and whenever we get a product that needs any type of assembly, I rely on my husband to do the job. Luckily, my dear friend, Keri, who owns a similarly designed carrier was able to walk me through it and I had Xander wrapped up in no time, after a bit of trial and error. I felt a bit silly, since once I had the wrap down, I realized it was actually a lot simpler to accomplish than I was making it! Once you get the hang of it, it is quite easy to use.
The Infantino Sync Carrier is also super-portable and is totally machine washable. This is a huge plus, since when you have a baby or two, messes happen. I love how easy it is to clean the carrier after getting drooled or spit up on! Another thing I love is the combination of both stretchy and non-stretchy materials used in the Sync. This allows for ease of tightening, and allows the perfect amount of give. I did notice that if you have a very squirmy baby, the stretchy panels can loosen slightly over time. This can easily be remedied by simply pulling the stretchy fabric taut and retying the ends. From what I understand, this can be a common occurrence in wrap-style carriers. The only issue I had was getting Xander to keep still while I wrapped him up against me. He struggled and squirmed quite a bit, and I wasn't able to get him as high on my chest as I would have preferred. I am sure as he gets more used to this carrier, it will become a lot easier. Once I had the carrier secure and the fabric panels wrapped around my little guy, I was shocked at how sturdy and secure the carrier was. Like I said, I have always found wrap-style carriers a bit intimidating and had assumed that they wouldn't be able to hold baby as securely as my other carriers. Well, I was wrong. This carrier did a great job of keeping my very wiggly baby wrapped tightly against me! I was able to comfortably walk around wearing the Sync, and I had no problem even doing dishes and vacuuming while keeping Xander close to me. I definitely appreciate the lumbar support belt, since this allowed me to comfortably wear my baby without having any back or shoulder pain. I have to say, this was just as comfortable as my favorite ergonomically designed structured baby carrier. I would definitely recommend the Infantino Sync Comfort Wrap Baby Carrier! This is one great carrier, and has totally changed my opinion of wrap-style carriers! HOW TO CONNECT: You can check out this and other great Infantino products on their website.
