I have always been told that I don't look my age. As a matter of fact, I get told constantly that I don't look old enough to have a preteen! When people guess my age, they often peg me for being in my early 20's. Well, as flattering as that is, this mama just turned 30 in June. Yep, the big 3-0! Yes, like many women, I had a mini-nervous breakdown at the thought of being thirty. I suppose it's not old, but it seems like only yesterday that I was a teen. I guess time flies when you're having fun! I think part of the reason that I may not look my age is the fact that I have been serious about skincare since my early 20's. I have been using daily moisturizers, night creams, gentle cleansers, and even wrinkle creams for many years now. They definitely do help keep the skin looking dewy and young, and it makes sense to start this type of regiment before you have "problem skin." It's all about preventative maintainence! When it comes to maintaining a youthful appearance, there are a few things one must remember:
I must be honest here. I was a bit skeptical about Dermagist. I have heard of this company before, and have seen very mixed reviews. Some were wonderful, others were awful. This tends to be the case for a lot of beauty products, though, so I went into this with an open mind. After all, I do like to form my own opinions rather than make assumptions based on a few negative reviews.
The products arrived very quickly and were well-packaged. The instruction sheet was very easy to understand as well. Once I was perfectly clear on how to use the Complete Rejuvenation System, I got started. The first thing I noticed is that these products are very true to their descriptions. The Original Smoothing Cream is incredibly rich, and a little bit goes a long way. Some people have made negative comments on the smell, but I really don't think it's offensive. It has an herbal scent to it, and that seems pretty common among these types of products. The accompanying serums also have an herbal scent that's not at all unpleasant, and these serums are super-concentrated. One thing to remember about serums in general is that they're formulated to absorb rapidly into the skin, so a tiny bit is all that is needed. "Over-using" serums will not enhance their effectiveness, and you'll only be wasting product. I have been using these products for a couple of weeks now, and I have to say, my skin is definitely seeing some benefit. While I don't really have any wrinkles to speak of, and I don't suffer from any real skin woes, I did notice that my skin seems tighter, plumper, and more moisturized. My husband commented that I look more "awake". (Hey, I have 2 toddlers and a preteen...I stay exhausted pretty much all the time!) I also love that Dermagist products don't leave my skin with an unnatural, greasy feel. The products seem to absorb quite well, leaving nothing behind but softer, tighter-feeling skin. If they make my skin feel so much nicer, I can only imagine what they'd do for more mature skin! So I have to say it, while there seems to be a lot of negativity towards this brand, I personally am having a good experience. I think a lot of the negative hype may be due to competitors trying to redirect customers to their sites. I noticed that many of the slanderous comments have had links to other skincare sites. Makes you wonder, doesn't it? It's sad that one can't search out products and find honest, accurate reviews of them. I guess that's where bloggers come into play, since we have no ulterior motives and work for ourselves rather than the competition. I would definitely recommend Dermagist products. The customer service team is friendly and helpful, and the products are definitely effective. I do recommend that you follow the instructions to the letter, though. These products are scientifically proven to work using a tested regiment, and following these recommendations will help you achieve the best possible results. So whether you have fine lines, deep wrinkles, saggy skin, age spots, or uneven coloration, Dermagist has a product that is specifically catered to address your unique skincare needs. I do believe that genetics has a great part in our skin. So at 65, I think it is time to invest a little time and energy besides Dove soap to cleanse. I also would be interested in the Hydro-Renewal Hand cream.
