As the weather cools down, I am reminded that the Holiday season is right around the corner. I have 2 toddlers and a preteen to shop for, so I definitely have my work cut out for me. I would have to say my preteen is the hardest to shop for. He is into some of the oddest things, and these change daily, it seems. He also claims to be too old for toys.
My toddlers on the other hand are pretty easy to shop for. They love things that have interactive features and they love electronics. We recently received an InnoTab 2 for review. When it arrived, my kids immediately started fighting over it. Even my 12 year old who is "too old for toys". He stated that it was so much like an iPad that he wanted one of his own! I think I just might have to save for a tablet for Christmas, since the VTech InnoTab 2 is geared towards children between the ages of 3 and 9. He's just a little bit too old for this one. My toddlers sure aren't arguing, though!
Some of our favorite features include the camera and video camera modes. I had to show my daughter how to switch between functions, but then again, she's almost 3. She got the hang of things rather quickly and was shooting photos and video in no time at all. Of course, the photos and videos didn't make a whole lot of sense coming from a toddler, but she sure did have fun capturing them!
My kids also love the e-readers and the art studio. They enjoy being able to "color" using their InnoTab 2 and they definitely love all of the available stories for the device. This is a wonderful way to get small children interested in reading. Let's face it: We're in an increasingly digital world. Kids see their parents use laptops, tablets, and e-readers all the time. Now with the VTech InnoTab 2, they can feel like they fit right in with their own, age appropriate technology.
Overall, we're thrilled with the VTech InnoTab 2. My kids love all of the fun things they can do using their InnoTab 2, and I love that it keeps them engaged while they learn. I also like that I can expand the InnoTab's library by purchasing extra cartridges or by downloading apps from the VTech website. This means that my kids will be able to enjoy this educational toy for years without getting bored. Leave it to VTech to come up with the perfect learning toy for young children!
