My daughter Sophie is a little Diva. She is almost 3 years old, and she has such a colorful personality. She's fiercely independent, spoiled rotten by Daddy, and has a style all her own. Sophie loves bright colors, feminine details, and things with a bit of an edge. She likes rainbows and butterflies, but she also loves animal print, skulls, and "rocker" type clothing. She's even happy to mix the two styles together! The results can be quite interesting, to say the least. One day, she ended up clashing so badly after choosing her own outfit that I couldn't help but laugh and secretly wonder if she's just eccentric or color blind! That's why I was so excited to hear about a great line of girl's clothing from Barbie. There are tons of great items from skirts to tops to pants and leggings. Each piece is glamorous, vibrantly colored, and most importantly, fun because they feature Barbie! And what little girl doesn't love Barbie dolls?! The really awesome thing about these clothes is that they are designed to mix and match. This gives even young fashionistas the ability to choose their own outfits while still looking pulled together and hip. This is a great confidence booster for little ones and helps develop a sense of independence. I know Sophie always beams with pride when she accomplishes tasks like choosing her wardrobe on her own. She will literally spend hours going through her clothes and trying to change them herself. (Now if only she would take such a strong interest in cleaning up all of the toys she scatters throughout the house!) Recently, I received a goodie box full of Barbie Apparel and a cute Barbie camera. This was delightfully packaged in what reminds me of the old Barbie wardrobe and doll cases I had when I was a child. How cute is that?! We received 3 great, glittery tops and an adorable skort style bottom. All of these items are bright and cheerful and definitely high fashion with cute girly embellishments. I especially love the pretty little bow on the pink t-shirt to the right! Here are some photos of Sophie modeling her Barbie apparel. She loves the pink colors so she chose this outfit to wear. I love the look of the bubble-style skort paired with the t-shirt. Notice that the bow on the shirt matches the print on the skirt. Pretty ingenious, if you ask me! Like I said, Barbie apparel is meant to mix and match, so outfit possibilities are endless! I was going to try and have an all-out Barbie Fashion Show, but all of my attempts failed. You see, Sophie is still very little and didn't quite understand the concept. Plus she wasn't being super cooperative. Of course, she's smack dab in the middle of the "Terrible Twos" and as soon as I pull the camera out, starts fussing. Yep, she's quite the willful child at times. She's lucky she's so darn cute. Here are a couple of my video attempts. While she wasn't exactly modeling Tyra Banks style, you can see how amazing her outfit looks! Overall, we love our Barbie clothing. Sophie loves the colors and girly images, and I love the value. These outfits are super affordable and suitable for play as well as more special occasions. Looking fabulous at all times doesn't have to be expensive! I look forward to getting more pieces from the Barbie collection so Sophie can have more fun pairing pieces together and creating new looks. I love that girls will be able to express their own unique style and share their fabulous fashion sense with help from Barbie apparel.
