I know my kids like to eat, especially during the summer break when boredom and hunger seem to be synonymous. Who knew that not having anything to do could bring on such fierce hunger pangs from kids who just ate something literally TEN. MINUTES. AGO?

But I digress....Anyway, my kids are bottomless pits during the warmer months, so I am always looking for snacking options that are nutritious, tasty, and won't bring on tons of Mom Guilt for letting them snack....Again....All day long.

Recently, I got to check out healthy snacking choices from a few awesome brands: OH SNAP!® Pickling Co., Vegetarian Traveler, and a local to me Ohio brand, Crazy Richard's. I'd love to share some of our favorite summer snacks from these brands, as well as a fun Q&A with Kimmi of Crazy Richard's. Keep reading for more!
I have to admit, I'm not into sweet snacks. In fact, I love things that are savory, salty, or tangy. One of my faves? Anything pickled. I love the snap and zest of freshly pickled veggies, so I was super excited to check out a variety of pickled snacks from OH SNAP!® Pickling Co.

OH SNAP!®, a line of truly tasty pickles and pickled veggies in convenient, single serve packaging, is making its mark on the snack-food industry. The innovative OH SNAP! pickling line includes four pickle varieties featuring best-selling Dilly Bitesand Hottie Bites, complemented by whole pickle options Gone Dilly and Hottie. Completing the line are four pickled veggies - Cool Beans, Carrot Cuties, Pretty Peas, and Hoppin’ Jalapeños.

Bring them to the BBQ, toss them in your lunchbox, take them on a road trip, munch while running errands, or just keep them on hand for a snack to enjoy at home; OH SNAP! combines healthy ingredients with convenience and great taste. Packaged with no added brine, OH SNAP! pickles and pickled veggies deliver superior crunch and make healthy snacking easier than ever. Better yet, all eight OH SNAP! varieties are gluten-free and fat free.
We really enjoyed these snacks, although the Hoppin' Jalapeno slices were a bit too spicy for my picky 9 year old to handle. She's not really into heat, though, so that came as no surprise.

I loved these pickled treats, and was quite impressed by the flavor and the freshness of them. These weren't limp or mushy at all. In fact, they are quite crispy and break with an audible snap...I'm guessing that's why they have the clever name?

These portable, pickled veggies are tasty enough to eat on their own, or they can be added to salads, sandwiches, etc. They were a huge hit for us, and I look forward to packing these up for our many adventures this summer for some flavorful snacks on the go!

Next, I'd love to talk about some very creative snacks from Vegetarian Traveler.

Nut butter without the clutter is what makes Crazy Richard’s so crazy. 100% high quality nuts and nothing else, Crazy Richard’s is known for its creamy clutter-free nut butters that are made without the usual oil, sugar and salt, plus it tastes cleaner and better than any traditional nut butter.

AND JUST IN TIME FOR SUMMER SNACKING…NEW Wholly Rollies!

Crazy Richard’s Peanut Butter Company has partnered with the National Peanut Board to roll out an entirely new category with the introduction of its new frozen snack line, Wholly Rollies – Frozen Protein Balls. This wholesome ready-to-eat snack is a satisfying, nutritious and delicious bite sized snack featuring only 5 ingredients.

From traditional jars to single-serve pouches, Crazy Richard’s offers convenient options for lunch boxes or to toss in a bag on-the-go. Crazy Richard’s is known for its extra creamy peanut butter, as well as its Crunchy Peanut Butter, Almond Butter, Cashew Butter and Peanut Butter Powder.
More than peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, Peanut Butter is making a comeback as the hero protein. Peanut butter is a great source of niacin, antioxidants, resveratrol and manganese. Crazy Richard’s doesn’t add any extra oils to their peanut butter because they use the natural oils found in nuts to ensure consumers get all the rich nutrients and protein they need in a healthier natural way.

Not only can Crazy Richard’s Peanut Powder be used for making smoothies, baking or cooking, pediatric allergists recommend it as a safe and healthy way to introduce peanuts early on into a baby’s diet. Studies show that introducing peanuts to kids between the ages of 4-6 months reduces chances of developing a peanut allergy by 70-80 percent.
We absolutely loved all of the Crazy Richard's snacks we got to sample. The Wholly Rollies are flavorful, filling, and definitely pack a powerful punch of protein to help fuel those summer adventures.

The peanut butters are also fantastic. I should note that since they only contain nuts, these butters do separate some. This is normal, and can be remedied by stirring the nut butter completely to blend.

Since Crazy Richard's is a local, Ohio company, I thought it would be fun to have a quick Q&A sesh with founder, Kimmi!
