Zipz Shoes Review And GIVEAWAY! 11/02

I have a preteen. You know, that odd age range that's not quite a teenager and not quite a child anymore. I remember being his age about a zillion years ago, so I remember how important it was to fit in and find my own personal style. I was a rocker chick, and thinking back now to some of the styles I experimented with, I am more than a little bit mortified. Yep, I dyed my hair funny colors, wore all black, listened to angry growling music that I now consider "noise", and I even had a few piercings. (FYI: All photographic evidence of this awkward phase has been locked away in a vault, never to be seen again!)

Enough about me, though. I'd love to tell you about my 12 year old son, Kyle. Like most kids his age, he is very into image. He wants to be the envy of his friends, and he has a pretty unique style. Thankfully, his sense of style is much more normal than mine was at his age! Kyle loves the punk-rock, skater, emo look, or some odd combination thereof. He loves tattoo inspired clothing, skulls, and bright, vibrant colors.

That's why when I discovered the awesome shoes from Zipz, I knew they would be absolutely perfect for him! Haven't heard of Zipz? Well let me tell you, this company rocks! They are very unique since they offer a completely interchangeable shoe that can be switched out depending on the mood of the wearer. Each pair of Zipz comes complete with a heavy-duty rubber sole as well as a stylish upper that literally zips off. This means you can order a few uppers and change your look, all with one quick zip! How cool is that?!

When I showed Kyle the many styles Zipz come in, he immediately chose the Skull Roze design in a high-top shoe. (They also offer low-tops and slip-on styles!)

Our shoes arrived quickly, and I was immediately impressed by the quality of craftsmanship in these shoes. They're very durable, and the zippers aren't at all flimsy. The soles are thick and sure to withstand plenty of use and abuse. I also love the bold, vibrant colors and the funky tattoo design on these shoes.

Take a look at how cute these are! Yep, I just may need to get a pair for myself...In a different design, of course. I wouldn't want to embarrass my son by matching him. At 12 years old, no kid wants to match their parents in any way if they can help it!

Kyle couldn't wait to try on his new Zipz shoes. The first thing he commented on, other than the oh-so-awesome design, was the fact that even barefoot, you cannot feel the zippers inside of the shoes. He said that they're very comfortable, with or without socks!

Kyle has been wearing his Zipz all the time. The first day he wore them to school, he came home and told me that everyone fell in love with his new shoes and begged him to tell them where he got them! Girls and boys alike in my town are now craving their own pair of Zipz!

I think a few more uppers will magically show up under our Christmas tree this year so Kyle can change them out whenever he'd like. I think the Bandanaz and Grafeeti styles will be right up his alley. With so many fun choices, maybe we'll get him uppers for every day of the week!

Overall, we love our Zipz. They are fun, stylish, and affordable. They also allow the wearer to have an entire shoe wardrobe by simply zipping a new upper onto the soles. These shoes would make a wonderful gift for all of those fashion-forward people on your gift-giving list this Holiday season.
