![]() Yesterday, March 22, 2012, was World Water Day. I have a confession to make. I hate water. No, really. I HATE water. Unless it's bottled and ice cold, of course. I also love bottled sparkling waters with fruit flavoring. It fools my body into thinking I am drinking soda, even though I'm not. For a recovered soda addict, this is very important! There's just something about tap water that irks me. Most of the tap water I have tried has a funny, almost chemical/metallic taste to it, and that's not exactly pleasant. Water's not supposed to have an aftertaste, you know? Of course I have been drinking water anyway, even if it does make me gag. Drinking the right amount of water each day is so important . It keeps the body hydrated, can help manage weight, and even does wonders for the hair, skin and nails. So obviously, the benefits of drinking water far outweigh the ick factor I associate with tap water, so I have just been dealing with it. Begrudgingly so. That's why I was so excited to get the opportunity to try the ZeroWater Pitcher. This is a unique water filtration system that's housed in a convenient, space-saving 10 cup pitcher. It comes with a great filter that removes all impurities from your water, making it clean, crisp, and refreshing. Without any funky flavors or aftertaste. Using the ZeroWater Pitcher water tastes exactly like water should! Here's how it works, as seen on the ZeroWater website: Enjoy pure-tasting water with the latest filter pitcher technology. The ZeroWater filtration system combines FIVE sophisticated technologies that work together to remove virtually all dissolved solids from your tap water, delivering you great tasting water. This 10-cup system comes with, our patented Ion Exchange filter, a laboratory-grade water testing meter and a guarantee to remove virtually all dissolved solids from your tap water. ZeroWater’s first layer of filtration, activated carbon and oxidation reduction alloy removes the chlorine taste you are accustom to with tap water. The Ion Exchange stage removes virtually all dissolved solids that may be left over from public water systems or even leached into your water from piping such as Aluminum, Lead, Zinc, Nitrate and more. Three additional stages are included to remove other impurities and to ensure your water receives the appropriate amount of treatment time to deliver a “000” reading on your laboratory-grade Total Dissolved Solids meter included. ZeroWater: Advanced water filtration. This system even has a handy tool to check your local water's quality rating. Using this TDA meter, you can see how your water measures up to the FDA's quality standards as well as compare with other parts of the country. It's actually really cool! The FDA recommended reading is 000 (what you get with the ZeroWater Pitcher!) and the EPA Maximum is a whopping 500. That would be some filthy, nasty water! Eww! Using the TDA meter, I learned that while I hated the taste of our water, it's actually very, very good by FDA standards. Our water measured a mere 071. I guess maybe my taste buds are just super-duper sensitive? Another very cool thing about the ZeroWater Pitcher is that it can be used 2 ways. You can pour like an ordinary pitcher, or you can slide it easily into your refrigerator and use it to dispense water straight from the shelf! How convenient is that?! The ZeroWater Pitcher doesn't take up a whole lot of space, and it fit into my fridge with no problems whatsoever. Take a look at the different dispensing options! Overall, I am thrilled with the difference the ZeroWater Pitcher has made in the quality of my water. Since using this system, drinking water doesn't seem like such a chore to me. My water is crisp, clean, and totally refreshing now. I love that I am actually able to taste pure, untainted water without the funny metallic taste I am so used to when drinking water. This is definitely a product that I will continue to use for years to come! If I am going to resign myself to drinking lots of water, it may as well be the best. With the ZeroWater Pitcher, that's exactly what I am getting. I can feel good about that!

We always drink filtered water. I used to drink bottled. Then read that the chemicals in the plastic leech into the water.

I have been eyeing this pitcher at Wegman's for over a year. So, glad to read it works. We are on our third PUR water filter in a year with monthly replacements for the filters. Hmm, could it be when the forgot to send out the water report in this area for a few months they were trying to hide something?

Whew! 436 TDS, that sounds super gross, and I HATE cleaning the deposits off the sinks, faucets, shower, etc. I gotta get me one of these pitchers!
