Have any of you heard of Xylitol? It may sound a little scientific and maybe even a little intimidating, but it's actually a very neat innovation in the way of sweeteners. Xylitol is a plant-based sweetener that is dentist recommended because it has been proven to improve dental health and strengthen tooth enamel.
Another amazing thing about Xylitol is that it doesn’t interfere with the body’s blood sugar levels, making it perfect for those on a sugar-controlled diet. Yes, that means even diabetics can indulge in treats sweetened with Xylitol! How cool is that?!
Recently, I received some Xlear Sparx candy to review. You guessed it! It's sweetened with Xylitol! Sparx is also free of artificial colors or flavors. We got a couple of flavors including assorted fruit and also citrus. These little candies come in a sturdy, resealable tube. They kind of remind me of Tic-Tacs in that way. The candies themselves are small, colorful, pellets.
The flavor is pretty good, and definitely quite sweet and fruity. The kids really liked it, especially my 12 year old. I am not really a fan of sweets, so they were a bit much for my tastes, but they definitely didn't taste bad or artificial at all.
Each tube retails for $1.49. Be sure to pick up some Sparx! Your kids will really like it, and they make great stocking stuffers!
