![]() It's so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the Holiday season. There are letters to Santa to be written, homes and trees to decorate, and gifts to buy for loved ones.Things can get pretty hectic while making our lists and checking them twice! At least around my house it does! It's also easy to become so wrapped up in our own Holiday plans that we forget that there are others in the world who are not so fortunate. People who not only don't get a Christmas as we know it, but who also have to struggle to survive. There are families who don't have proper shelter, food, or even clothing. There are children who cannot receive a proper education or a shot at a decent life because their families simply cannot afford it. In some parts of the world, the things we take for granted every single day are considered luxuries that most cannot afford. While it is heartbreaking that such poverty exists in a world that is full of so much prosperity and wealth, you can make a difference this Holiday season. YOU can do something that may be seen as a small gesture, but will change the lives of poverty-stricken families forever. By choosing to shop from the World Vision Gift Catalog, you will not only receive wonderful gifts for your loved ones, but you'll also give life-changing gifts to those in need. For example, goats nourish hungry children and families with healthy milk, cheese, and yogurt. Goats also give a much-needed income boost by providing offspring and extra dairy products for sale at the market. In addition to providing a goat, you'll also receive Gertie the Plush Goat to keep or pass on to a loved one as a reminder of how you've helped change lives! This is just one of the gift examples you'll find at World Vision. You can also choose to give directly to those who need it most, with gifts of livestock and chickens, clean water, medications, education, and even help for exploited women and girls. There are gifts available in lots of categories and to fit every budget. You can even enlist friends and family to pool resources together to give a more substantial gift, such as a home for a mother and her children. What costs us relatively little can literally make the difference between life and death to people in these impoverished nations. Check out this touching video that shows what the gift of chickens have done to change the life of a mother and her daughter. This brought tears to my eyes, and really put things into perspective as I think about what giving is all about. Did you notice the amount of hope and joy a simple gift like some chickens gave this family? Like I said, little things we as Americans often take for granted can mean the world to a family in need. I hope you'll consider ordering your Holiday gifts through World Vision, or that you'll simply donate to give a life-changing gift to those who need it the most. After all, it is the season of giving. Why not give a gift that can save a life? HOW TO CONNECT : The World Vision catalog can be seen here. Coming from a family who used to raise ducks, 5 Ducks is my favorite gift option. Duck eggs are just as tasty as chicken eggs, and ducks are actually quite loyal animals, at least ours were. Thank you for the chance to win.

The sewing machine! I know how much having one has improved my family's life so I would want to bless someone else in the same way.
