(This place is where all of the magic happens!) While we were hanging out at Disney Studios, we went into their very own private theater and got to see bits and pieces of several films slated for later release. One film in particular got me very excited. I am a foodie, and trying new International Food excites me. So a French/Indian fusion? Bring it on! Based on the best-selling novel by Richard C. Morais, The Hundred-Foot Journey stars Academy Award®-winner Helen Mirren and will be in U.S. theaters on August 8. In this highly anticipated movie, Hassan Kadam (Manish Dayal) is a culinary ingénue with the gastronomic equivalent of perfect pitch. Displaced from their native India, the Kadam family, led by Papa (Om Puri), settles in the quaint village of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val in the south of France. Filled with charm, it is both picturesque and elegant...the ideal place to settle down and open an Indian restaurant, Maison Mumbai. That is, until the chilly chef proprietress of Le Saule Pleureur, a Michelin-starred, classical French restaurant run by Madame Mallory (Academy Award®-winner Helen Mirren) gets wind of it. In celebration of "The Hundred Foot Journey", World Market has teamed up with celebrity chefs Ryan Scott (Restaurateur & Host of Food Rush) and Aarti Sequeira (Author & Host of Aarti Party), to create some amazing French and Indian fusion recipes inspired by the film. The best part? All of these recipes include gourmet ingredients you can pick up at World Market! If you've ever had French or Indian food, you know you're in for a treat! Aarti and Ryan came up with some pretty amazing global recipes. While they were all absolutely mouth-watering, I'd have to say my favorite is this Chicken Roulade Provencale with Whole Grain Mustard Bearnaise. I actually made this myself a week or so ago, and it was fabulous! This chicken is absolutely bursting with flavor. There's a nice tang from the mustards and the pickles, a nice saltiness from the olives and salami, and of course the creaminess of the cheese and sauce balances everything out beautifully. You can get the recipe HERE. If that looks a bit intimidating, I promise it's not. It's all about technique. Check out this helpful tutorial with the dreamy Ryan Scott for step-by-step instructions : You can check out the rest of the recipes inspired by "The Hundred Foot Journey" as well as many others at www.worldmarketrecipes.com Enter to Win a gourmet getaway : Thanks to World Market, you could win a Culinary Trip to Paris inspired by the film, "The Hundred Foot Journey".
