![]() Every parent knows that babies poop, and they poop a lot. Sometimes it seems never-ending, especially when baby is tiny. When my babies were newborns, I changed a whopping 15+ diapers every single day. This isn't surprising, since babies eat constantly and cannot hold their food in their tiny little bodies for too long. One thing I noticed was that all the wiping involved with frequent diaper changes could be irritating to baby's delicate skin. Even when using cloth wipes! The act of wiping creates friction, and since most wipes are moist, this creates the perfect conditions for rashes and irritation, particularly for babies who have sensitive skin. It's enough to make a parent wish they could simply hose their child down to avoid these issues. After all, water is very gentle, and if you don't have to scrub their bottoms after every mess, there's less risk of tender, red skin! Well now, thanks to the Rinse Hopper, you can do just that! The Rinse Hopper is an eco-friendlier, gentler way to clean baby after each diaper change. It resembles a baby tub, but has strategically placed holes in the bottom that allow poop to simply be rinsed away down the drain. This product can be used in a large utility sink, in the bathtub, or even in the shower. I wouldn't recommend the kitchen sink, because well...That's kind of gross. The Rinse Hopper allows parents to ditch their baby wipes once and for all, and can save a lot of money in the longrun. Since baby's skin will be cleaned with pure, clean water, there are no irritants coming into contact with their skin. How does the Rinse Hopper work? Take a look at the step-by-step photos below as well as the instructional video. How much easier could that be?! I have to admit, when I first heard about this product, I was a bit skeptical. After all, using this meant that poop would be going into my sinks and tubs. I was worried that it would just be messy. Surprisingly, I was wrong. If you place the Rinse Hopper near the drain, everything gets channeled out of the bottom and can easily be sprayed right down the drain. It's quick, convenient, and allows me to skip wipes altogether!
This product is wonderful for parents of new babies and toddlers alike. Of course for older babies with more well-formed stool, you want to "scoop" as much poop up as possible before spraying baby's bottom with water. No one wants chunks stuck in their drain! The Rinse Hopper is also nice for a quick wash should baby become messy after eating or playing and it isn't quite bath time yet. It has come in very handy for me, since my toddlers are probably the messiest children on the planet, especially at meal time! If they get covered in their food, I can place them in the Rinse Hopper and clean them off without having to give a full-blown bath or having to use about a zillion baby wipes on their bodies. Overall, I am pleasantly surprised by how useful and effective the Rinse Hopper is. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do! I love that it's convenient, and I also love that it's eco-friendly. The fact that it saves my babies' skin from irritation is fantastic, too. Oh, the money saved from not having to buy wipes is nice as well! I would definitely recommend the Rinse Hopper to new parents out there that want the gentlest, least invasive way to clean their babies. It doesn't get much easier than this! No, I have never heard of it but when my children were born I remember watching a nurse put the backside of a baby under warm running water to clean him. It sure would help with those really gross back to feet diaper changes.
