![]() Hi my name is Corinne and I’m a tea-aholic. You know how you hear people say not to mess with them until they’ve had their morning coffee? Well that’s me with tea. You’d think I was English not Irish with the necessity of my daily “cuppa”. The women in my family even go to high tea a few times a year. It’s fun to dress up, eat the dainty finger foods and try new and exciting teas. So now that you know a little bit about my background you can see why I was Super excited to receive some samples of tea from California Tea House. California Tea House is a family owned tea store where you can find some of the world’s best loose leaf tea blends and Tisane teas. Their teas are unique in many ways. One of the main reasons is that it is all loose leaf tea. This means that it doesn’t come prepackaged in tea bags. There are many great reasons to buy loose leaf tea. While for some this may be inconvenient as you need a special tea pot, or dispenser, I actually prefer it as it allows you to determine the strength and full flavor of each pot. I also think that it keeps the tea fresher and allows you to experience the true flavor of the tea. I was also greatly surprised by the amount of herbal and decaf tea that they carried. I was actually incredibly please with the wide collection of all different types of teas that they offered. It really is one stop shopping, and I was excited to try what they sent out. The first sample they sent was their Chocolate Chai Herbal Tea, made with USDA Organic cocoa nibs, white chocolate pieces, orange peels, chicory root pieces, cardamom blooms, fresh-cut ginger root, whole cloves and peppercorns, and I couldn’t have been more impressed. (Yes, you heard me right: Chocolate tea!) I’m not a big Chi tea fan. As a matter of fact I have never met a Chi that I welcomed without first turning it into a latte…until now. This tea was super yummy! The chocolate mixes with the spice perfectly, requiring that you add nothing, but some hot water for the perfect cup. Perfect for the newly arriving fall weather. Next I was able to try their Lemon Meringue Pie, a comfort blend of fine rooibos tea, a handful of lemongrass, lemon preserves and vanilla bean bits. Boy did they ever get the name of this tea right! It was kinda like drinking a fresh from the oven pie. And the best part? I mentioned before that its made from rooibos tea, which is actually HEALTHY for you! Rooibos is well known for its amazing medicinal properties such as relieving stress, soothing upset stomachs, aiding with digestion, calming nervous tension, and providing relief from allergies. Rooibos has proven in studies to promote healthy skin, teeth, and bones as well as lower blood pressure and protect against heart disease. Since Rooibos is caffeine-free, it is completely safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women and is loaded with vitamins and minerals. This is a Great tea all around, it completely satisfies your sweet tooth with none of the calorie guilt! ![]() My last experience with these amazing teas was their Violet Moon Blooming Tea. These types of teas are incredible treats for all of your senses. Made from a romantic display of silver needle white tea and a bold violet bloom, it smells, taste and looks beautiful. Blooming teas start as a small “flower” pod and when added to a glass of boiling water they bloom into a wondrous lotus style flower , releasing all of their flavor into a beautiful and tasty cup of tea. This tea was a light and refreshing way to relax at the end of the day. Take a look at how stunning this gorgeous tea is when it's in "full bloom" and ready to drink! All in all I was super impressed with the quality and assortment of organic and healthy teas provided and distributed by California Tea House. This is a fabulous company promoting all the benefits of a great cup of tea. I highly recommend trying a cup of whatever seems to suit your fancy (and they’ll have it, I promise!), whether it’s to wake up in the morning or to relax and unwind in the evening.
