***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. No other compensation was provided, and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** Okay, so I have to make a teensy, tiny confession: The Holidays are already stressing me out. Badly. I almost need a rubber room with no windows. And maybe a straight-jacket, as long as they come in black. I hear black is slimming, and all the Holiday food is not friendly to my diet. Anyway, I have all of my gift shopping completed. Okay, the vast majority of it, at least. But I still have menus to plan, presents to wrap after I spend about $1,000 on wrapping paper, parties to attend, and birthday parties to plan. (Sophie's birthday is New Year's Eve and Xander's is just 2 weeks later.) Not to mention, I spent the past couple of weeks deathly ill, and a week of it was spent in the hospital getting surgery. Now I am home and recovering, but I am sore and feeling very overwhelmed since I really fell behind when I was sick. It's enough to make me scream! But that might wake my neighbors and they're a little on the odd side, so instead, I just open a bottle of Sequin wine. These wines are right up my alley, since they're crisp, refreshing, and delicately bubbled....Kind of like me. I am friendly, happy and cheerful, but in a delicate way, not in an "Oh my God will this crazy woman ever shut UP?" kind of way. You know....Like that maddening chick on Modern Family that no one can understand? I recently received 2 bottles of Sequin Wines to try out for myself. They came in a beautiful box that's definitely suitable for gift-giving. I was delighted to find a gorgeous Rose, and Dan was thrilled when he saw that the other wine is one of his personal favorites, a Pinot Grigio. They also carry a Moscato, which I will definitely have to try. Here's a description of each of the wines :
Sequin Rosé captures the life of the party-light on its feet, yet dreamy and fresh. Delicate bubbles and shimmering flavors of lush strawberry, exotic lychee and lively citrus make this enchanting wine always worthy of a toast. Serve chilled and dazzle the senses. Opt for pure and simple with a chilled glass, or get creative with a signature wine cocktail. Pair with soft goat cheese, grilled prawns with mango salsa or seafood paella. Sequin Pinot Grigio is a cheerful – vibrant wine, perfect for brightening up any occasion. Like sunshine in a glass, it’s light, refreshing and delicately bubbled with shimmering flavors of lush pear, crisp apple and hints of lively citrus. Keep it simple with a chilled glass of Sequin Pinot Grigio, or get creative with a signature wine cocktail. Either way, Sequin Pinot Grigio loves to appear alongside fresh, easy bites like prosciutto-wrapped melon and soft cheeses. We enjoyed them paired with foods, as suggested. With the Rosé, we had a meat and cheese board along with some fresh fruits. Dan had some shrimp with it as well, since he eats seafood. (Yuck!) This wine was very light and crisp, with wonderfully fruity notes and a nice clean finish. I absolutely loved it! The fact that it has bubbles was just icing on the cake! Dan thought it was a tad too sweet, but that was no real shocker since he much prefers drier wines. The Pinot Grigio was also excellent. We again enjoyed soft cheeses and fruits, but this time we also has a nice grilled chicken salad. (Hey, I don't need to have my arm twisted when it comes to eating more cheese!) This was also a nice, fruity wine. It's not as sweet as the Rosé, and it has delicious hints of pear and apple. Dan really loved this variety, and ended up drinking almost the entire bottle himself! Overall, I definitely dig Sequin Wines. They're very refreshing, tasty, and at around $11.99 a bottle, they won't break the bank. And yes, I think surviving the Holidays will be much more bearable delicately bubbled. Connect with Sequin Wines on Facebook , Twitter and Pinterest
