![]() As many of you know, my family is in for a lot of major changes this summer! We are going to be purchasing a home, which is stressful as well as exciting. I cannot wait to be able to watch my children play in a yard that's our own, as well as be able to finally decorate and customize my home the way I want it to be. We're looking into a lot of options as far as moving goes. We have been spending a few hours each day scouring real estate listings looking for our perfect home. We're looking locally, as well as at certain areas out of state. We actually found a home we absolutely love in Ohio. (See the photo to the left.) It's a bit of a fixer-upper, but has amazing potential and offers all the room we would ever need for our family. Plus, it's on almost 4 acres. So even with the small amount of work the home needs to make it pristine, it's definitely a steal for the price being asked. We're seriously considering making on offer on this gorgeous home, and we're already daydreaming about home improvement plans and various projects. My husband is a very handy guy. He actually jokes and says he's like a "modern day MacGuyver". He has come up with some off the wall ideas on things he'd like to create, and a lot of them involve common products such as PVC pipes and CPVC fittings. He has made a laundry list of things he'd love to do once we settle into our new home. Here are just a few ideas he has: Source: lowescreativeideas.com via Sara on Pinterest Yep, that's a PVC wine rack! How cool is that?! Another idea he has is to use PVC furniture fittings and pipe to make a gate to keep the kids away from the fireplace. Yep, we've decided that a fireplace is a must-have for our new home. Source: latimes.com via Sara on Pinterest He even wants to make a sand table for the kids. This is such a neat idea, and I know Sophie and Xander would just love it! Source: creativeworksforchildren.com via Sara on Pinterest Who knew there were so many uses for PVC piping?! I sure didn't, but then again, I don't have a crafty bone in my body. I leave all of that kind of stuff to my husband. I think it's great that he is so creative and resourceful, since this will help us save all kinds of money after we buy our new home. I know we'll have a lot of other things we'll need to spend money on once we move, especially if we end up buying a fixer-upper, so fun projects like this will definitely be very budget-friendly. I love the idea of re-purposing items like this, too!
So as you can see, we have a lot to plan for right now. First, of course, we need to find our new home. (If we haven't already!) I know that once we're settled in, we'll start implementing these plans and ordering a lot of materials from Commercial Industrial Supply. We're very excited about making our home purchase and we can't wait to move and make our new house a real home. We plan to get creative and put our own personal touches on everything. After all, that's what makes a house a home! Do you have any creative home improvement or project ideas? I'd love to hear them! ***Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. Congratulations! I luv some of those ideas for PVC piping. While in school my son made a musical shaker by capping both ends of a piece of PVC piping after putting items inside. I also have heard of lawn furniture, plant stands (the pots rest in the squares.)
