It's been a crazy week here! We're STILL getting over being sick, and then we found out we have mice getting into our pantry. (Which totally and completely freaked me out, by the way...I was going into the kitchen and opening the pantry with a butcher knife in hand!) I didn't want to use poison or traps, because we do have small kids and puppies. So after a ton of frantic researching, all while experiencing the heebie-jeebies, we decided our best option would be to get a cat! Now I will admit, I have never really been a cat person. Most of the cats I had growing up were downright evil...Plus, I have always had pretty severe cat allergies. However, my husband and kids LOVE kitties, and apparently, cats are a great mouse-deterrent.
So we rescued a kitty, and we named her Noodles. She is a huge, fat gray and white cat, and she is super sweet! (Yes, pigs are flying...I actually like this cat!) She is very gentle and tolerant of the kids, and even does well with the dogs...Although she did bat Bear in the face when he got in her way. So this cat, while sweet and gentle, won't be bullied. She also parked her furry butt right in front of my pantry and sat there for 4 hours, waiting...It's like she knows the mice are there! Good girl, Noodles!! The best part? I don't seem to be allergic to her...Which is strange. Anyway, that's what we've been up to. Now I have some winners to announce! All winners have been notified by e-mail and most have already confirmed. Be sure to check your e-mails, including spam! Thanks so much to everyone who entered, and be sure to check back often for more giveaways! Yo Gabba Gabba: Charlene S. Aquaphor: Sheila A. Bob the Builder: Jamie B. Thomas & Friends: Michael B. Oh Brandy, good luck with the mice. It's common in Ohio. Especially in older homes. I would seal entry ways up before getting another animal.Just because the more animals the more food out.Anyways, I hope your allergies don't resurface. It is a pretty cat.Happy b-day Xander!!!

Hi Mom! Yeah we sealed up all the entrances we could find, but apparently that wasn't enough. I think the cat will do her job just fine, though, and the kids are thrilled to have a kitty!
