***Disclosure: As a US Family Guide Blogger, I received complimentary tickets to this event. All opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** We have had quite the busy week! First we went to the circus, and just a couple of days later, we attended Disney Junior Live Pirates and Princesses at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio. My preschoolers, Sophie and Xander, absolutely love anything DIsney. The love Mickey and Minnie, and pretty much any animated movie you could think of. Of course, they adore Sophia the First and Jake and the Neverland Pirates, too, who just happen to be the stars of this fun-filled, live show. It took us about an hour to get to the Covelli Centre in Youngstown. When we arrived, we were quickly greeted by the sight of tons of little princesses and pirates! I felt almost guilty because I didn't make Sophie wear one of her princess dresses for the occasion! We had nosebleed seats, which was okay since we had a great view of the action. The show started exactly on time, and the first story was about Sophia the First. This live action show was so cute! The costumes were elaborate and very true to the animated series, and the actors were all very colorful and energetic. We were thrilled to see the 3 fairies from...Oh shoot...I want to say it's Sleeping Beauty...Yes. Yes. It was Sleeping Beauty! There was also a special appearance by none other than Cinderella! Sophie and Xander both got a kick out of that! Of course Sophia was able to overcome all of her challenges thanks to some help from her princess pals and her trusty amulet. I love that this story had a few valuable life lessons. It doesn't matter if you're the smallest or the youngest....If you have a heart of gold and ask friends for help, you're bound to do some very big things! Next came a brief intermission, followed by a pirates tale featuring none other than Jake and the Neverland Pirates! And yes, Captain Hook and his dastardly crew were there as well. Peter Pan even made a special appearance, soaring through the sky to help save the day! I think my favorite part of the whole show was when the hungry crocodile found Captain Hook and wanted to eat him! Since Jake is a good-hearted young pirate, he saved his enemy from certain death. Another very neat feature was a shower of golden confetti being released into the crowd when the "volcano" erupted. This was very neat to watch, and a great way to get the crowd excited. Next, Mickey and Minnie came back out, along with the rest of the cast, for a fun-filled song and dance. Sophie and Xander loved seeing all of their favorite Disney characters in real life, and they clapped, giggled and sang along! Overall, we had a wonderful time at the Disney Junior Live Pirates and Princesses show. Sophie and Xander were so engaged and just couldn't take their eyes off of the performers! Of course, this show was absolutely magical, in true Disney form.
