![]() As we begin 2012, many of us have certain goals or resolutions for the year. For a good number of us, this includes a desire to lose weight and get fit once and for all. While I am not personally overweight at 130lbs, I would still like to lose about 10-15 more pounds. My husband does not agree with this goal one bit, as 130lbs is the smallest I have been since...well, puberty! Still, I want to be bikini ready come summer time, and I am also planning for a vow renewal ceremony, so I want to look my best. Losing weight can be very difficult, especially with so many food-related temptations available to us. My husband is a junk-a-holic and loves his sweets. He can go through an entire box of packaged snack foods in less than a day. And of course, the guy never gains an ounce. Me on the other hand? I have to stay far, far away from such treats, as they will immediately find a permanent home on my stomach and thighs. You all know the old adage, "A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips". Well, for many women, including myself, this rings all too true. Fortunately, I don't often crave sweets. But on the rare occasion that I do want something sweet, decadent and creamy, I end up feeling horribly guilty for my indulgences. That's why I was excited to try a variety of frozen ice cream treats from Weight Watchers. Yes, I said Weight Watchers. STOP!! I know what you're thinking....I can hear you now...That's DIET food, so it couldn't possibly be any good! Well, that's what I thought, too. Until I tried them. Everything I thought I knew about "diet food" went right out the window as soon as I bit into these better-for-you treats. I was shocked at how delicious they were, and at 100 calories per bar or less, they are quite kind to the waistline, too!
My personal favorite is the Dark Chocolate Dulce De Leche Dessert Bars. Oh. My. Gosh. The chocolate shell is rich and melts in your mouth. Underneath you'll find creamy vanilla ice cream with sinful swirls of some of the most gooey, mouthwatering caramel I've ever tried. Yum! I also love the fudge bars. These are soft, creamy, and almost remind me of some famous pudding pops I remember eating as a child. Oh, and I can't forget the Dark Chocolate Raspberry Bars and the Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Dessert Bars. These, too, were absolutely fantastic. Here's the skinny on some of these mouth-watering varieties. (Be sure to wipe the drool off of your keyboard):
The best part? Each of these deceptively skinny treats has a PointsPlus value of 3 or less to help you snack smart in 2012 and stick to those New Year's Resolutions. How awesome is that?! With Weight Watchers Ice Cream snacks, I no longer have to deprive myself of dessert. (Or feel horrible when I indulge!) Overall, I was incredibly surprised by just how tasty these treats were. They do not taste like diet food at all. As a matter of fact, I'd recommend you try them, whether you're trying to lose weight or not. They're creamy, flavorful, delicious, and guilt-free. I have already returned to the store and purchased a few more boxes! 2012 just got a little sweeter in my house! Maybe I'll be able to break out that bikini this summer after all! Weight Watchers Ice Cream treats can be found in the freezer section of most fine grocers. ***Disclosure: I received free product as part of a promotional program with Weight Watchers and MomSelect.
