We all love Walt Disney and their legacy of providing magical entertainment for children of all ages. Whether you're 1 or 101, I can guarantee that Disney has made your life a little brighter in some way. I have always loved Walt Disney, and so do my children. I guess you can say we're a Disney family! One of my biggest goals is to finally make it to Walt Disney World before I die to experience the magical world of Disney first-hand! My husband used to go with his family every few years and I know these experiences were some of the highlights of his childhood.
While Disney is knows for their enchanting tales featuring princesses and lovable characters like Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse, they also have some great motion pictures that are sure to please older kids who may have "outgrown" the traditional fairy tale. (Like my preteen son!) I am excited to let you know that one such movie, "Frankenweenie" is scheduled to be released on October 5, 2012!
From creative genius Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland,” The Nightmare Before Christmas”) comes “Frankenweenie,” a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.
A stop-motion animated film, “Frankenweenie” will be filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new experience.
My family is very excited to see this latest collaboration between the Walt Disney team and the modern-day legend that is Tim Burton. I know my younger kids will love the animation while my preteen becomes enthralled with the story. So mark your calendars for October 5th! I'll see you at the theater for a frightfully good time!
