![]() I know my Holiday Gift Guide event doesn't start for another couple of weeks, but I wanted to give you all a sneak peek of one of my amazing prizes and get you all in the mood for the Holiday Season! So while this prize package will be featured on my Gift Guide page, I am cheating and starting this particular giveaway a wee bit early! It will run from now until the close of the event! I am very excited about this prize package for so many reasons. First of all, my kids LOVE VeggieTales! These colorful, fun characters always send a positive message and help to teach valuable life lessons in a way that little people can understand. They also have great music that gets my toddler dancing around! The other reason I am excited about this giveaway is because the Christmas Classics DVD set includes all of the timeless, classic Christmas stories I remember watching on television when I was growing up. Remember Frosty the Snowman? Check! Or maybe Rudolph? Check! There's even Santa Claus Is Coming To Town! And there's MORE, too! These great Holiday DVD's would make the perfect gift for the little ones in your life this Holiday season! ![]() When we first watched the "VeggieTales The Little Drummer Boy" DVD, my Sophie immediately began clapping her hands and giggling as soon as the menu popped up. You see, Sophie loves VeggieTales! She often watches them while she's at her God-Parents' house, so I am sure it was a delightful treat for her to see VeggieTales come on at home, too! The story starts Junior Asparagus as The Little Drummer Boy, and the Veggie Tales retell the Christmas classic following a lonely child who finds hope when he happens upon the birth of the baby Jesus. This story is beautifully reenacted, and focuses on teaching the importance of forgiveness. The VeggieTales rendition of this classic is sure to become a family favorite in no time at all. With bright, colorful characters, some humorous moments, and even some great songs, like "The 8 Polish Foods Of Christmas", your kids are bound to love this DVD and request it often. Sophie has watched it about 18 million times now. Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but she has watched it several times now, and it seems that she likes seeing it over and over and over again, all in a row. It's definitely a fun movie, so I don't mind one bit! ![]() Along with the DVD, there is the "VeggieTales O Holy Night, Journey of a Little Drummer Boy" companion CD. This CD is full of wonderful Christmas songs that focus on the true meaning of the season, done in wonderful VeggieTales fashion! Sophie loves this CD almost as much as she enjoyed the movie! You see, Sophie is a huge fan of music and loves to sing and dance. Tracks Include: Hark the Herald Angels Sing Do You Hear What I Hear It’s About Love – featuring Wynonna Judd Can’t Smile Without Ewe Meant to Be – featuring Steven Curtis Chapman Silent Night What Child is This / The First Noel Give This Christmas Away – featuring Amy Grant & Matthew West Oh Holy Night Away In A Manger The Little Drummer Boy – featuring BeBe and CeCe Winans We love this CD! It has wonderful music that is well performed and would help even the Grinch himself get into the Holiday Spirit! ![]() I remember being a kid around the Holidays and watching classic Christmas cartoons on TV. It was something I looked forward to every year. Stories like Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town were among my very favorites. I grew up in North-Eastern Ohio, and it gets awfully chilly there on cold winter nights. I remember grabbing my blankies and laying down on the floor with my feet near the heater vents to keep them warm and toasty while I watched these classic Christmas programs. I was SO excited that now my kids will be able to form their own special Holiday memories when watching the tried-and-true classics on this DVD set! The Originals Christmas Classics Limited Keepsake Edition offers 7 of the best Christmas programs that have been known and loved for generations. Included in this awesome set are the following titles: Frosty The Snowman Frosty Returns Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Santa Claus is Comin' to Town The Little Drummer Boy Cricket on the Hearth Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol How cool is that?! These are all of my all-time favorite Holiday classics in one convenient DVD Box Set! BUY IT: You can check out VeggieTales online and wherever DVD's and audio products are sold. My favorite tradition is that we have a "3 gift rule" in our family. My aunt started it over 30 years ago when my oldest cousin was born. According to her, "If 3 presents were good enough for Jesus, that's good enough for you." It helps keep the focus on Jesus instead of the gimme-gimme attitude that often surrounds the holiday.

My favorite Christmas tradition is, twelve days before Christmas Santa's elves leave one little present in the kids stocking every night until Christmas. They aren't allowed to open them til Christmas, but they can touch and feel and guess up until Christmas what they are, when they finally get to open them. SweepsGirl@aol.com
