***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. No other compensation has been provided and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** Okay, so I have to admit, it took me awhile to get onboard with the whole Adult Coloring craze. Maybe it's because I stay super-busy all the time, or maybe it's because I'm not overly confident in my own artistic abilities. Truth be told, I can barely draw stick-figures. It's BAD. My teenage son is a phenomenal artist, but it seriously must have skipped a generation. Anyway, recently, I decided to give this whole coloring thing a shot. I've had several close friends tell me how relaxing and therapeutic coloring is, and I've been seeing so many absolutely gorgeous creations on Facebook. I figured, why not? I have been super-stressed lately, mainly due to the upcoming elections, so any kind of stress relief is worth a try, in my opinion. A recent study published in the journal Art Therapy found that making art can significantly reduce stress-related hormones in the body. With the Prismacolor Premier Soft Core Colored Pencils and Prismacolor Premier Fine Tip Illustration Markers, it’s easy to relax and indulge your creative side as you turn dull black and white pictures into colorful works of art! The awesome folks at Prismacolor sent me some of their high-quality Colored Pencils, some Art Markers, and this beautiful Mandala print. I actually have similar tapestries hanging throughout my home, so I was really excited to see this included in my package of Prismacolor goodies! First of all, let me say that all colored pencils are not created equal. There are colored pencils meant for little kids, and then there are colored pencils ideal for actual skilled artists. These colored pencils definitely fall into the latter category. Prismacolor's Premier Colored Pencils come neatly packaged in a nice tin. They come in trays, which helps to keep your art supplies organized and in tip-top condition. The colors are nice and rich, and come in a wonderful variety of shades. Lots of blues, greens, and reds to choose from. There's a whole rainbow of color included, so the coloring possibilities are endless! While I may not be an artist, I have really enjoyed adult coloring with my Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils. These color very well, and evenly distribute color. Of course you would apply light pressure for subtle shading, and increase the pressure for brighter, richer color. These are also easy to blend, which is a huge plus for those who are even the most accomplished of artists, like my son. He loves these, too, by the way. In addition to colored pencils, Prismacolor also offers other art tools, like these acid-free, Prismacolor Premier Fine Line Illustration Art Markers. These are archival quality, and come in multiple tips and sizes. They also have charcoals, pastels, graphite and sketching tools, and tons of accessories. These products would be a fabulous gift idea for the artist in your life this Holiday season! Connect with Prismacolor :You can check out these and other awesome art tools on the Prismacolor website.
