***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. No other compensation has been provided, and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** Spring is almost here! You wouldn't know it if you looked out my window here in the Cleveland, Ohio suburbs. We're actually under a Winter Storm Advisory right now. This isn't supposed to happen in March....I guess Elsa is angry, and has decided to unleash her icy powers just a wee bit longer than usual! Anyway, whether or not the weather is showing it, spring will come, eventually. That means it's time to order new spring clothing and footwear for the kiddos. I love shopping for my little ones, especially for the warmer months. There are so many fun and colorful styles to choose from! This season, I wanted to get Sophie and Xander some shoes that are not only adorable, but can also withstand the use and abuse of very active little children. My kids are monkeys that love to climb, run, jump, and play. I have to be honest, I sometimes have a hard time keeping up with them, especially if I haven't had my coffee. Their new shoes from Umi Children's Shoes will definitely be able to endure, without coffee, too! Because...well...shoes, unlike exhausted mothers, don't need coffee to function! The awesome folks at Umi sent us a couple pairs of shoes from their new spring and summer line to check out for ourselves. I have been a HUGE fan of this brand for quite some time, so I knew I would be delighted by the quality and style of these shoes. Of course, I wasn't disappointed! Seriously, this brand rocks my socks. Xander received the Mac style in Navy/Multi. This is a sneaker/sandal hybrid that's absolutely perfect for outdoor play! The Mac is made from man-made, textile uppers. They have a reinforced toe, and a soft, cushioned lining for ultimate comfort. They are easy to slip on and take off, and have a convenient Velcro closure. The best part about these shoes? Well, good looks aside, it would have to be the fact that these shoes are water-friendly. In our home, that counts for a lot! We live right near the riverfront, where there are tons of festivals and even a fountain where our city's children love to splash. I never want to let the kids go barefoot, and these shoes will be perfect this summer! The Mac also has a thick, rubber sole that offers plenty of traction. This is so important when dealing with little kids who like to run at top speed, 24/7. Having good traction definitely helps to avoid slips and falls. Sophie received the Hera in Light Blue. (They have other gorgeous colors available, too!) The Hera is perfect for active little girls who take play very seriously, and want to look good while doing so, like my Sophie. The Hera is made from a canvas and leather upper, and features a Velcro closure. These are so easy to put on and take off, even for little hands! They also feature a breathable, mesh lining and footbed for added comfort. While the Hera isn't a "water shoe", they are handcrafted with quick-drying, water-friendly materials. These shoes have a durable rubber sole that provides plenty of traction to avoid slips and falls. With my daughter, this is so important. She loves to run, and doesn't like being slowed down for any reason! These shoes will definitely allow her to maintain her super-fast, super-hero speeds! Sophie and Xander both LOVE their Umi summer shoes. I wish I could have gotten some good outdoor pics of the shoes in action, but right now, we have a few feet of snow on the ground, and as much as we love these styles, they're definitely not made for insane amounts of snow. So if you're looking for stylish and durable shoes for your little ones this back to school season, definitely check out Umi Children's Shoes. They have so many fun styles for both boys and girls, and these shoes are amazing in quality and are built to last! We've been Umi fans for quite some time, and I can tell you that the kids outgrow these shoes long before they wear out. Yep. They're pretty darn awesome, and worth every penny!
