One of my absolute favorite parts of having a little girl is getting to dress her up in cute, feminine clothing. My daughter is the very definition of a girly-girl, and she seems to love being dolled up in kid party dresses like these, tutus, and other frilly duds. When we dress her in such apparel, she likes to examine herself in the mirror and always seems to spend extra time touching and admiring her outfits. The first time we put her in a tutu, she had a blast just feeling the tulle and was absolutely fascinated by the vibrant color and fluffy texture.
While there are so many clothing options available for little girls, I tend to gravitate towards more unique styles that have a boutique designed feel to them. Sure, I could hop on over to my nearest big-box retailer and pick up several adorable outfits for my little princess. But in doing so, chances are, half the tots on the block probably have the same exact outfits. I like my little angel to stand out and wear clothing that matches her diva-like personality. For Sophie, nothing will do but the very best. Ask anyone who knows her, she is one of a kind. She knows what she likes, and isn't at all shy about expressing it! She must get that from her Daddy's side, since I tend to be extremely meek in nature. Either way, my baby has a larger than life personality, and I like her clothing to reflect this.
So when I got the opportunity to review the Pitter Patter Dress from Twirly Girl, I knew Sophie would be super excited. Their beautiful kids party dresses and skirts have a flowy, almost ethereal quality to them. While they are perfect for the most special of occasions, they are also made with kids in mind and are suitable for play as well. After all, little girls love to run and twirl!
Twirly Girl isn't only about dresses and skirts, they even offer pants, leggings, and super fun outfits for more active playtime, like trips to the park and climbing on the jungle-gym! I know my daughter can keep up with the most rough and tumble boys, and I love the fact that with fun apparel from Twirly Girl, she can still look like the fiercely feminine girl that she is!
Twirly Girl has so many gorgeous styles....It's really hard to choose just a few favorites to share, but here are some of my top picks for spring and summer.
My Top Twirly Girl Picks :
This is probably one of my absolute favorites. The Day Dreaming Dress in the colorful Run Away to the Circus print is vibrant, beautiful, and appeals to my hippie chick side.
I love the metallic-like shimmer in this Can Can Dress. Plus the open shoulder design is a fun and feminine touch!
But my absolute favorite of their kids dresses for parties would have to be this stunning reversible dress in Ethereal Awesomeland. There is a nice selection of reversible dresses at Twirly Girl, and they all have very unique prints and colors. Plus, it's like getting 2 dresses in 1! How cool is that?!
Aren't these just so unique and gorgeous? Any little girl will feel like a princess in any of these amazing kids dresses for parties.
Our Review of the Pitter Patter Dress:
The generous folks at Twirly Girl sent us their Pitter Patter Dress to check out for ourselves. It arrived with lightning speed, and was beautifully packaged. I was delighted to see this fun presentation. I always appreciate companies that pay attention to special little details like this.
Another thing I absolutely love about this dress is the quality of construction and the soft, silky materials used. This dress is very well made, and is meant to withstand even the most active of girls all while retaining it's delicate appearance.
The Pitter Patter Dress also has a bit of stretch to it and allows plenty of room to grow. We received a size 5, and I imagine Sophie will be able to wear her Twirly Girl dress for quite some time, as she is petite for her age.
Another special touch that I absolutely adore is the Twirly Girl label that's sewn on the back of the dress. Yes, it's silly to be excited about a brand label...I know. But this one is a soft, silky pink that really adds a boutique-like feel to the dress and compliments the colors very well.
Since we finally have a nice day here in North-East Ohio, Sophie wanted to wear her Twirly Girl dress out to play. Now normally, I would be a bit paranoid about letting my daughter play in such a pretty dress. But the best part? Twirly Girl dresses are machine washable, so there is no need to freak if some dirt, mud, or other mystery substance gets on the dress. (I don't know about you, but with 2 preschoolers, a teen, cats and dogs, we encounter a lot of mystery substances!)
Sophie had a blast swinging on the swings and playing on our wooden playground in her Pitter Patter Dress. Since the dress is soft and stretchy, it didn't restrict her movement in any way. She was able to climb and play with her little brother with no wardrobe malfunctions at all!
Even Xander was impressed by how pretty his big sister looks in her Twirly Girl Pitter Patter Dress! Here he is, trying to give her a nice big hug. The expression on Sophie's face here just cracks me up!
If you're looking for a kids party dress that is well-made,playful, colorful, and fun, I would highly recommend Twirly Girl. Oh, and be sure to check out their shop on a regular basis. All of their apparel is created in limited runs, so there are always new colors and designs to choose from!
