![]() Woo-Hoo! Summer time is almost here! Break out the swimsuits, shorts, and Super Soakers, everyone! I can't wait to head to the park for picnics and play dates. I also can't wait to head up to my Father-In-Law's house in Maryland for family barbecues and swimming! Summer is definitely something we look forward to every year. But what about days when it's simply TOO hot to spend time outdoors? Here in Virginia, we can get sweltering heat and humidity, as well as very poor air quality during the summer. We also get pummeled with some truly wicked thunderstorms, as well as the occasional inland hurricane. This makes being outside miserable, not to mention hazardous for those with certain health conditions like asthma. So there are definitely times we choose to keep to indoor activities. Keeping kids cooped up is no fun for anyone, and certainly doesn't help keep them active. I recently found out that AMF Bowling Alleys are doing something super-fun to combat the warm-weather blues. They're offering FREE bowling to kids 15 and under in their Summer Unplugged program! Details? You got it! At select AMF centers, two free games of bowling per day for kids 15 and under. (Shoe rental not included, but they’re worth paying for.)
In addition to the Summer Unplugged Special, AMF is also offering a Summer Pass, which can bring huge savings to those ages 16+.
2 free games, per day for up to four people ages 16 and up (shoe rental not included). One $29.95 Summer Pass is good for 2 games per day for up to four people all summer long - that's $7.50 per person! (Same dates and times as above.) Available online at http://bit.ly/SummerPass. You can learn more about AMF Bowling on their website, on Facebook, and on twitter! WIN IT! The amazingly awesome folks at AMF Bowling are offering one lucky reader an awesome prize package! What can you win? A Pizza Bowl Gift Certificate! This is a $70 value and includes 2 hours of bowling, shoe rental, 1 topping pizza and a pitcher of soda for up to six people! How cool is that?! Enter on the easy Rafflecopter form below! This giveaway is open to US Residents 18+ until 11:59PM on June 4, 2012. No PO Boxes. Winner will be drawn using Rafflecopter's Random Number Generator. All entries will be verified, so play fair! I will notify winner via e-mail and they will have 48 hours to reply before I am forced to redraw winners. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. This contest is not affiliated with Facebook in any way. Thanks for entering, and Good Luck! ***Disclosure: I participated in this campaign as a member of One2One Network and received a gift certificate for posting. Ansolutely love AMF Bowling Centers! It is hard to find activities that a 5 year old and a 13 year old are both interested in. Bowling is great fun and exercise for our whole family!

We have had some fun birthday parties for the kids at bowling alleys, but the funnest bowling story was when my hubby and I went out with another couple and we had a few drinks while bowling. And I hardly EVER drink. So I went to get my own shoes back on, got in the car and proceeded home. I noticed I had ONE of my shoes and one of someone ELSES". ewwwww! So I called the bowling center and they said there were no shoes left there. I guess the other person who got MY shoe had called before me and found out she had taken MY shoe. So she came back and brought mine back the next day, then I went back later...then SHE had to come back again. She was too embarrassed to face me. But seriously, the shoes didnt even look alike at all..so I was just as silly as her!

In the winter my family goes bowling every Sunday and the most fun I had was when we all bowled in weird ways. (backwards, with our eyes closed, etc.)

I have tons of fun memories of time with my family growing up at the bowling alley... I remember my dad making fun of how my mom bowls and wiping out once... sadly we didn't all have camera phones back then

Anytime my family had something to celebrate, it was done while bowling. Being 16 hours away from home, I now get to see the pictures and hear the stories of this continued tradition without me. It's been almost a year since I last stepped foot in a bowling alley, but I still know that it will always create great memories for me :)
