thinkThin Protein Bars Review and GIVEAWAY! 6/15

I have a confession to make: While I am always making sure the kids are taken care of, I often forget to take care of myself! (Sound familiar? I know I can't be the only one that does this!) Often, I find that I skip meals, which leaves me completely ravenous by dinner time. 

This is a horrible habit, since eating proper meals and snacks is essential to make sure our bodies are ready to tackle busy schedules. Not eating enough can be just as disastrous to the metabolism as eating too much. So my habit of skipping meals is definitely not very friendly to my waistline. 

Recently, I discovered thinkThin protein bars. These bars are full of flavor, but light on the calories. (These bars range from 150-240 calories per serving, depending on the variety.) They're also loaded with fiber and protein, which are important building blocks for a balanced diet. 

Oh, and I should also mention that thinkThin bars are also made with non-GMO ingredients, with several options also being gluten-free. This makes thinkThin bars a great choice, even for those with special dietary needs.

I received a large assortment of these bars to check out for myself. I usually eat them while I am on the go, and keep a thinkThin bar in my purse at all times. This practice has definitely helped me keep my diet on the right track, since I am able to resist the call of the many fast food places here in my town.

I really love the wide variety of flavors offered by thinkThin. The Brownie Crunch Bar is perfect for days when you simply HAVE to have chocolate. Even my husband, who is a self-proclaimed chocoholic and chocolate snob, thought that the flavor was very appealing. 

Since I am not much of a chocolate person, I prefer the thinkThin Crunch bars. These are made with mixed nuts! Yes, they do have some chocolate in them, but it's not overwhelming, and the flavor of the nuts really stands out. I especially love the  Caramel Chocolate Dipped Mixed Nuts. Yum!

Overall, I am definitely loving thinkThin bars. They're absolutely delicious, and come in enough mouth-watering flavors that I don't find myself getting bored with them. I also love the fact that these bars are GMO-free and made from the best ingredients that Mother Nature has to offer. If you're looking for a sensible, guilt-free way to keep your body fueled this summer, I would definitely recommend giving thinkThin bars a try! I think you'll be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

Because I live in the low desert area of CA, we have excessive heat where it takes away your appetite and dehydrates you with over 100 days over 100 degrees in a row. Heavy meals don't work so we have a lot of salads, cold fruit, sandwiches, smoothies, and non-dairy frozen treats.

I've been doing a horrible job or eating healthy lately but I'm planning on working and improving. I tend more towards salads (green and fruit) in the summer. I've recently learned more about the importance of protein so I'll be working on that too.

Today I kept my body fueled for my run/walk with eggs, butter, and coconut oil.
Then ground beef, liver, another egg, more coconut oil, asparagus, broccoli, romaine. That wasn't all one meal. haha Lunch and dinner ingredients.
Lots and lots of heavy gardening work got done after I got back from the park!

Writing all of that is making me hungry. Trying to fight the evening snacking thing! haha

Have you ever tried Sun Tea? It's a great drink, just takes a pitcher of water and a couple of tea bags! I keep my body fueled with a few hand fulls of nuts along with Sun Tea between meals.

I live where it is extremely hot and I am more concerned about hydration for my family than anything so I keep an ice chest filled all summer long with a variety of drinks. I also keep the fruit bowl full and we make our own sandwiches and have soup a lot in the summer. It is just too hot to cook and heavy food isn't good for you in 100+ weather.

I'm so active in the summer, so I keep a pack of energy nuts in my purse when I'm on the go. They pack so much protein and energy it's great! When I'm home I munch on fruit. I love fresh fruit in the summer time, especially watermelon
