Wait. Did I just say challenge? Let me rephrase that: Getting a teen to play with 3 and 4 year olds is darn near impossible. Sure, my oldest son loves his baby brother and sister. He adores them. But does he really want to play with them? No. Not too often. You see, Kyle seems to think that if he plays with "baby toys", it will somehow make him uncool. I say it would make him an awesome big brother, but I suppose he and I will have to agree to disagree there. So when I received to Nerf N-Strike Elite Mega Magnus Blaster, I was really looking forward to making my teen look at playing with his siblings in a brand new light. You see, for some reason, if he gets to "shoot" them, he is all for it. (Of course no one will get hurt using Nerf products since the darts are made from a soft yet durable foam.) The Nerf N-Strike Elite Mega Magnus Blaster comes with a Magnus Blaster and 3 Mega Whistler Darts. This toy features durable plastic construction, and is comfortable to hold. These darts can fly up to a whopping 85 feet and even make a neat whistling sound as they fly through the air. Pretty cool if you ask me! For those who may be concerned about injuries or mishaps occurring while playing with this toy, don't be. Here's a closer look at the Mega Whistler Darts. As you can see, the body is made from a soft foam. The ends of the darts are plastic, but they're a very soft plastic. I allowed my teen to shoot me with them, and the impact was felt on bare skin. Let me assure you, it didn't hurt one bit. To use the Nerf N-Strike Elite Mega Magnus Blaster, simply load the darts into a slide-action chamber on the top of the barrel. They slide in very easily, and even a elementary-school aged child could do this with no problem. When you're ready to fire, just slide and cock the action and you're ready to go. Much as I suspected, Kyle was all too happy to have an outdoor play date with his pesky little siblings. He was quite eager to have a 2 against 1 battle with them. He had the Nerf N-Strike Elite Mega Magnus Blaster as his secret weapon. Since this product features soft darts like I described before, Sophie and Xander liked being shot at. They would actually try and catch the darts mid-air! Kyle was even nice enough to let them pull the trigger a few times. Boy, were they excited when they saw that they could play with this toy, too, with direct supervision. We didn't allow the little ones to shoot at people or pets since they don't understand not to aim at anyone's face. Instead, we told them to use the large Oak tree in our back yard as a target. I was pretty impressed that they were able to actually hit it! Please note: This product is intended for kids ages 8+. Yes, we allowed our younger kids to play with it, but only with direct supervision. Please make sure that kids of ANY age know not to aim at the face or eyes of any intended "target". Overall, we're loving the Nerf N-Strike Elite Mega Magnus Blaster. This toy is very simple in design, yet well thought out by its designers. The operation of the blaster is simple to use, and I love how it can be quickly reloaded. This can prove to be quite helpful during mega battles! It's also safe to use and much better than other similar toys that feature harder plastic projectiles. These are super-soft, so I don't worry about any casualties on the battle field. Plus, it allows all 3 of my kids to play together happily. The little ones have a blast running from their older brother, and my teen loves to try and shoot his pesky little siblings. It's a win-win situation, and allows me to pee in peace since the kids don't get bored quickly. Definitely check this out! It will be great for spring and summer outdoor play! How to Connect :
