I am a big shoe fan. At one stage, I owned more than 50 pairs. In fact, I can still
be tempted to buy more. So, the other days when I was looking at silver footwear on jdwilliams.co.uk, my shoe itch returned. I scratched it by browsing through dozens of fashion sites to find out what the latest trends were. Here is a roundup of what I found. Hopefully, it will prove useful the next time you need to go shopping for boots or shoes. Shiny footwear remains popular Most retailers appear to still be offering a good range of metallic footwear. This is good news because they are very versatile. You can wear both gold and silver shoes with most types of clothes, provided the pair you choose is not too shiny. If you have a party to attend, they are a particularly good option. 80s style boots As you would expect, at this time of the year, there are plenty of boots available. Most footwear and clothing retailers are getting ready for the colder weather. They are marking their sandals down in price and filling the space with winter footwear. The season, quite a few designers seem to have turned to the 80s for inspiration. The shapes and materials used are very similar to the ones used during that decade. Those of you who were teenagers, or older, during that time will recognize the iconic slouch boot. Sneakers If you like comfortable footwear, consider tapping into the sneakers trend. Quite a few people are wearing the latest styles with skirts and smart clothing. They have broken the mold, so you can follow and be able to stay comfortable regardless of what you’re doing. Cylindrical heels Gone are the super thin heels of the past few years. In their place, designers like Stella McCartney are using cylindrical style heels. This type of heel adds a touch of edginess to even classic shoe styles. Low block heels The other major trend is block-heels that are 3 inches high or lower. This style of heel looks especially good on round-toed pumps. They look like that they will be very comfortable whether you choose to wear them with dresses and skirts or trousers or jeans. Red and black shoes Recently, quite a few models have sported black and red shoes and boots on the catwalk. So, you can expect to see at least a few examples making their way into the hands of mainstream footwear retailers. Large clasps and buckles If you like bold shoes that make a statement, keep an eye out for pairs with large clasps and buckles. Some designers have also started to introduce huge bows into their footwear ranges. More of my footwear picks Not so long ago, I wrote a post about Swedish footwear. As you will see, when you read it, the Swedes have eclectic tastes. So, if you are looking for something a bit different take a look and see if anything catches your eye.
