Teaching Toddlers Spelling and Vocabulary With Earth's Best GIVEAWAY! 5/1

My toddlers are like little sponges, craving and soaking up knowledge. It seems that they learn new things every day, and I love seeing the pride and happiness on their faces when they accomplish something new. They grow up entirely too fast, in my humble opinion. One day I will look back and miss their innocent wonder. Yes, when it comes to my kids, I am a sap!

One thing I have been working on, especially with my 2 year old Sophie, is learning her letters and numbers by sight. She can recite them, and can identify most of her letters if asked. We're getting there! We even work on  some beginner's spelling!

Learning the alphabet and vocabulary at an early age has a ton of benefits. Kids with early familiarity tend to be more confident, do better in school, and are even advanced readers a good portion of the time. Plus, they can help you read bedtime stories, making it a memorable occasion for parent and child alike!

One way I make learning a fun, hands-on experience is by incorporating different objects into our teaching time. My favorite? Earth's Best Organic Crunchin' Blocks! Reward your children for getting the word or letter correct by allowing them to pop the cracker into their mouths! Trust me, this method works. My oldest child is 12, and a bit beyond learning his ABC's. We try and help him progress by giving him plenty of books to read on various subjects. For every 10 books he reads, he gets rewarded. Maybe it's with a surprise pizza night or a game or CD he's been wanting. Offering rewards definitely makes him a lot more enthusiastic about reaching his goals.
