***Disclosure: I received complimentary product to facilitate my review. No other compensation was given. All opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** I am officially a cat lady. I won't add the term crazy to the phrase, since I do not have a broken shopping cart full of doilies and the cats do not outnumber the people in the house. (Pretty close, though...) We have 4 kitties named Noodles, Pringles, Havarti and Truffles. I adore my kitties. I spoil them as much as I do my own kids. See Havarti and Truffles? Yep...They have their own Pillow Pet to nap on. They kind of claimed it, even though it's Sophie's. I just bought my princess another and let the kittens keep this one! The only downside to having multiple cats? Well, other than the fact that my horizontal window blinds have bitten the dust....That's not so nice, either. Having 4 cats in the house is sometimes a smelly situation. Yep. I am talking litter boxes here. We have 4 different boxes, but the kitties seem to be too lazy to venture upstairs to use 2 of them. So for all intents and purposes, we have 4 cats that primarily use 2 litter boxes. At times, the ammonia smell is horrid, even though we clean their boxes regularly. If stench was bad enough, I have found that my kitties sometimes track litter outside of the boxes and it leaves a gross mess behind that I don't like having to clean up. Plus, there is a dusty cloud that happens when changing or adding the litter, and it does absolutely no favors for my allergies. I am highly allergic to airborne dust, and I have had to give litter-changing orders to my son and husband just so I could avoid an allergy attack. So when I discovered Swheat Scoop cat litter, I was definitely intrigued. For one, this litter is completely natural and made out of wheat. There is no clay, which means a whole lot less nasty dust! It is also biodegradable and even flushable! How cool is that?! This saves us from using about a zillion plastic bags when cleaning the litter boxes! Swheat Scoop also clumps quickly and does fairly well at odor control. Of course, you will want to clean you cat boxes regularly, but in a well-maintained litter box, this litter definitely does help to zap yucky odors. It really doesn't have much of a scent to it, either. It smells like wheat, but it's a very subtle, light smell. Overall, I am pretty impressed with Swheat Scoop. My cats took right to it, which is rare considering Pringles is VERY particular about her preferences and won't use the litter box if things aren't EXACTLY right. I love that this litter is all natural and biodegradable. It's so convenient to be able to flush it all away! I will say, if the clumps are huge, you should allow it to "break up" in the toilet for a few minutes before flushing. My only complaint? Swheat Scoop does clump very well, but due to the fact that it's made with wheat, it can turn a bit pasty and gummy when a kitty urinates on it. This has caused us to spend a little more time while cleaning the litter boxes, since it can get stuck on the box itself. If you're looking for a natural, fast-clumping, clay-free kitty litter, I would definitely recommend trying Swheat Scoop. It performs quite well, and is much better for the environment than clay litters. I would absolutely say that if you have allergies, this is THE litter to check out! how to connect : You can check out Swheat Scoop on their website. I have 3 cats of my own. We keep 3 litterboxes in the basement on the laundry room side. One of the litterboxes is HUGE, we used a big rubbermaid tote and just cut an opening in the side for the cats to get in it. We scoop daily and use the litter locker to hold the litter (and odor) until it is full. We don't use the expensive bags you are supposed to use with the litter locker, we use regular garbage bags!
