It's finally warm enough here in the Cleveland, Ohio suburbs that I can open up my windows and let some fresh air in. There's just something about this time of year that gives me the urge to freshen everything up, from my wardrobe to my home. After all, springtime is a time for renewal, right?

Since I have officially embarked on my spring cleaning mission, of course I wanted to enlist the help of my family. They help make the messes and the clutter, so they should help clean it up. At least I think so. Mom shouldn't be stuck doing it all. Plus, cleaning together as a family can actually be fun, and it helps teach children important life skills. One day, they will have to learn how to take care of a home themselves, without Mom's help. Or is that just wishful thinking?

Since I do involve the littles in household chores, I am incredibly picky about what products I use. I am not about to hand fairly young children bottles full of potentially deadly chemicals. Basically, if it has incredibly frightening warnings or a laundry list of ingredients that I couldn't pronounce if I tried, my kids don't get to handle it.

I am not willing to risk my kids' health or even their lives, so I play it safe by choosing natural, eco-friendly cleaning products like the ones offered by Swanson Healthy Home. These products contain nature's powerhouse ingredients, such as citrus and other essential oils, vinegar, and biodegradable, Earth-friendly plant based extracts.
Not only do these naturally derived products perform as well as their traditional counterparts, they are also free of any chemicals or other toxins commonly found in cleaning products. This means that there won't be any harmful residues left behind on your home's surfaces. This is extra good news if you have a family member who suffers from sensitive skin or allergies. It also means that these products are perfect for kids to use while helping out around the house.

Recently, I received a nice assortment of Swanson Healthy Home products to try out with my family. Included were products for literally every room and every household chore. We received multi-purpose products like Window & Glass Cleaner and All-Purpose Cleaner, as well as products catered to specific areas in the home.

I really love the Window & Glass Cleaner. This is vinegar based, and I just happen to love the scent of vinegar. (Yes, I am weird.) This cleaner has done wonders for our dirty windows, and removed all the winter gunk, leaving behind a streak-free shine.

I also absolutely adore the All-Purpose Cleaner. For one, it has a super-fresh herbal scent. Parsley, to be exact! For a foodie like me, anything that smells like fresh culinary herbs gets an A+ in my book. In addition to smelling fresh and clean, this product is also safe for all of your household surfaces. I use it everywhere, from the kids' art and play areas to kitchen counters to wiping up mystery goo that ends up on the table. It effectively cleans my surfaces and doesn't leave behind any funk or gunk. This is definitely a very solid all-purpose product.

I also received some great products just for the kitchen, which happens to be my favorite room to spend time in. I love cooking, especially when the kids help. Sophie and Kyle love learning how cook, and Xander...well...He likes to eat. He doesn't have any real interest in the culinary arts just yet.

The Fruit & Vegetable Wash is wonderful, and allows us to properly clean our produce before eating. This gives me added peace of mind, since I know our fruits and veggies are free of any nastiness. I use this after we go grocery shopping. Our produce gets a good washing before being put away. This way, I never have to worry that my kiddos are biting into a dirty apple.

I also really like the various dish detergents. The Dishwashing Liquid has a refreshing grapefruit scent, and definitely does a good job at cleaning our dishes. I especially like the fact that it rinses away cleanly, and doesn't leave behind a film or residue. The Automatic Dishwasher Gel is equally fab. It's unscented, and includes a built-in rinse aid. This is by far the best performance I have seen from a natural automatic dishwasher detergent. My dishes not only come super-clean, they are also completely free of spots and streaks. Major brownie points there!

Next, let's head to the bathroom. I must admit, this is my least favorite room to clean. It seems that none of the boys in my household know how to aim their equipment, if you know what I mean. Not my husband, not my teenager, and certainly not my 4 year old. This means I have to clean the toilets constantly.

Our shower seems to need constant cleaning as well, since my teenager dyes his hair using Manic Panic. Between hair dye staining, soap scum, and whatever other mystery substances show up, our tub gets pretty funky, fast. Swanson Healthy Home has some great eco-friendly solutions for tough bathroom messes.

The Toilet Bowl Cleaner is just great for removing any stains or "piddle puddles" from the toilet. It naturally cleans and disinfects, and has a pleasant cedar oil scent, too.

Speaking of essential oils, the Shower & Tub Cleaner harnesses their natural cleaning power, too! This product is formulated with 100% Natural Tea Tree & Lavender Oils. This spray cleaner definitely does a good job cleaning our tub and tile. It is gentle on these porous surfaces, too. I do have to say, not even this will completely remove Manic Panic staining from the tub. I have yet to find a product that will, though. That stuff really stains!

Last but certainly not least, we head to the laundry room. Laundry is actually my husband's chore, and he is pretty picky about the products he uses to launder our clothes and linens. He prefers products that get clothing super clean, but without any heavy perfumes. This Laundry Soap and Mite-Free Laundry Additive definitely do a great job! And, of course, they're free of any fragrances or additives, so they're ideal for anyone, even those with sensitive skin.

Overall, I am definitely loving these eco-friendly cleaning solutions from Swanson Healthy Home. They are safe, effective, and they allow me to put my kiddos to work since I don't have to fear exposure to chemicals. Oh, and of course, my house is getting cleaner by the day thanks to these wonderful products!
