Sleep. It's one of those things that's not fully appreciated until it's seriously lacking. No one knows sleep-deprivation quite as well as new parents. Did you know that parents of babies from birth to 5 months in age lose an average of 2 hours per sleep each and every night? (It felt like a LOT more than that with my babies!) And when a baby is 6 months and older, Mom still loses at least an hour of sleep every night. That means that by the time baby's 2nd birthday rolls around, Mom has probably missed out on a whopping 875 hours of sleep, if not more! Yikes! No wonder cosmetic companies do so well...I know I probably keep my brand above water with all the concealer I buy to disguise those pesky dark circles!
One way to help baby sleep better for longer periods is by providing them comfort. Think about it....A baby spends 9 glorious months in their mother's womb. It's safe, snug, and warm. This is a very stark contrast to the lights, temperatures, and sounds in the "real world". No wonder little ones get so darn upset...The world must be a very confusing place to adjust to after birth!
Thankfully, the folks at Summer Infant have the perfect sleep solution, regardless of your baby's age or stage. They offer plenty of swaddling products designed to soothe newborns, infants, and even toddlers. Swaddling baby is a wonderful way to not only help baby feel comforted and warm, it has also been shown to help reduce crying and since swaddling keeps babies on their backs, the risk of SIDS is cut down, too.

Our Review of the Summer Infant Swaddle Line-Up :
We received the complete line-up of Summer Infant's swaddling products. Included were:
We received gender neutral designs, which is absolutely perfect, considering my sister is currently expecting her 4th child and they don't know the gender just yet. These will ultimately be a gift for her.
My little ones are too big for these products, so I enlisted a neighborhood Mom and her baby to help review these items. (Understandably, she didn't want her child's photos to be published, so I am just including product photos to respect her privacy.)
The first products I'd like to talk about are the SwaddlePod and the SwaddleMe adjustable infant wrap. These products are absolutely incredible, and I actually used the SwaddlePod on Sophie and Xander when they were tiny. These are simple to use, and keep baby wrapped tightly, mimicking mother's womb. I always found that my babies slept so much better and fussed less when wrapped in these products. Oh, and I should also point out that once baby is wrapped, it's very difficult for them to wiggle-free, which increases peace and quiet for weary parents. I love the fact that these products are so soft against baby's delicate skin, too.
The SwaddleMe WrapSack is another amazing product. This is much like the SwaddlePod and the SwaddleMe, but it allows for greater movement. You can choose to bundle baby's arms or leave them free for easy exploring. Oh, and late night diaper changes have never been so easy or painless. The SwaddleMe WrapSack features a zipper opening so you can tend to baby's messes without having to unwrap them completely. Genius!
And for babies that have moved on from the newborn, itty-bitty stage, the ComfortMe Wearable Blanket is a great nighttime sleep solution. As we all know, crib bedding, as adorable as it may be, can produce hazards to baby. There have even been cases where babies have lost their lives due to suffocation in crib bedding and traditional blankets. The ComfortMe Wearable Blanket eliminates these problems by keeping baby warm and comfortable, while keeping baby's face free of excess fabric.
Overall, I am definitely impressed with these great swaddling products from Summer Infant. They're well-made, durable, and are very soft against baby's skin. Their swaddling action is very secure, and I can say from experience that it definitely helps soothe fussy, tired babies. These products are also machine washable and come in several different styles for girls, boys, and even "gender unknown" babies who have yet to be born. So if you're interested in helping your little ones sleep more soundly,so that YOU can sleep more soundly, too, definitely check these out. They'd make awesome baby shower gifts as well!
