I get to spend a lot of time outdoors with my family, which is something we all look forward to. We love going to the riverfront festivals, to the water parks, and even just hanging out in our own backyard. This summer, however, has been full of inclement weather. We have gotten a ton of rain, and it has left my children with a mild case of cabin fever on the "yucky" days. After all, I can't just send the kids out to play when tornado sirens are sounding and rain is coming down in sheets. They may think it sounds like fun, but I am not trying to have my littles swept off to the land of Oz, no matter how much they beg! My little ones, Sophie and Xander, seem to need a bit of distracting when the more severe storms hit. They get easily frightened by the loud, clapping thunder and bright bursts of lightning. Thankfully, this is when we spend time with Uncle Milton. No, I don't really have an Uncle Milton. Uncle Milton is an awesome children's brand that offers kids about a million different ways to have fun. Whether it's outdoor play, room decor, or bedtime magic, this brand has got you covered. Uncle Milton, distributes its toy lines through a broad range of retail channels including mass merchant, specialty toy, online, hobby, gift, and department stores nationwide. Our Review :We received a couple of very fun products to check out for ourselves. First, I'd love to tell you about the Wild Whistlin' Fireball. You may have missed out on 4th of July fireworks, but no worries! With this fun product, kids can create their very own fireworks experience! This toy features a soft, spiky rubber "head". It looks much like a burst of fireworks in the night sky. This head is attached to a colorful, silky "tail". When you whip this toy into the sky, kids will enjoy a streaking, multi-colored light show plus pretty authentic fireworks sound effects! It's a lot of fun on a nice summer evening! I would definitely recommend this for outdoor use, since my kids almost took out a ceiling fan by playing with it in our family room. Oops! In the name of complete transparency, I have to be honest here. The only concern I had with this product is that it is powered by button batteries that are fairly easy to access. This product is geared towards kids ages 6+, but even a 6 year old will sometimes put things into their mouths. I know this sounds like a silly concern, but a couple of years ago, my daughter actually ingested a button battery she found in a toy, and this could have been fatal. She got VERY lucky since the battery passed right to her stomach and came out in her diaper a few days later. The fact is, this could have easily killed my child, and whenever I see button batteries in children's toys, my heart sinks a little. Button batteries are extremely dangerous around small kids, so I would have loved to see a much more secure housing for these batteries. This is NOT a toy that I leave where the kids can reach it, and we ONLY play with it when adults are present to closely supervise. That being said, we do have fun with this toy as a family. I don't want to discourage anyone from purchasing it, just please be aware of the possible risks. The next product I'd like to talk about is the Wild Walls Puppy Stars! This puppy-themed room decor brings the glitz and glamour of the "Hollywoof" red carpet to your child's room! Of course it's not Angelina and Brad that are being stalked by the Pup-perazzi, it's a cast of absolutely adorable dogs! This fun set includes both wall-decals and a projector, which is powered by 3 AA batteries. (The batteries are even included! Yay!) It was very easy to set up. We just stuck the wall decals to a bare wall, and mounted the projector underneath. This took about 5 minutes, total. One of my kids' favorite things to do during a scary storm is head up to Xander's room to enjoy this cute light show! Just turn on the projector, and soon you'll be seeing flashing lights and fanfare, just like a real red carpet event! I have been to a few Hollywood premieres, and now the kids get to experience their own version, too! Overall, I am definitely very impressed with the product line-up from Uncle Milton. They have SO many amazing decor products for kids of all ages, and they even carry branded merchandise from favorites like NatGeo WILD, Star Wars Science, and even FROZEN! (Coming very, very soon!)
