Step2 Grand Walk In Kitchen Review And SUPER SALE!

Okay, so by now you all now I am absolutely crazy for Step2. What's not to love? They offer the absolute best products for outdoor play as well as indoor creative play. You should see my playroom! Wait...No you shouldn't. We've got 2 very active toddlers and are preparing to move out of state, so things are in quite the state of disarray right now, between the babies playing and the act of sorting through things and packing. (Yes, I am quite stressed out lately!)

Anyway, my playroom looks like a veritable Step2 advertisement. We have activity tables, art desks and easels, a Real Projects workshop, and not one, but 2 kitchens! And that's just our Step2 indoor toys! Want to see more? Come take a  look at my garage! Here we've got our Naturally Playful Woodland Climber and our Wagon For Two Plus! This is another reason I cannot wait to move and have a huge yard of our own. Here at our current home, we can't leave play equipment outdoors, so we have to drag it in and out of the garage. Thank goodness we only have to deal with that for another couple of months!

We're looking at a home in Ohio that has a whopping 4 acres, so if we end up buying it, that's plenty of room for any Step2 goodies we want. I am thinking that the Adventure Lodge Play Center and Sandbox Combo would have to be at the tippy-top of my wish list! Or maybe the Clubhouse Climber. With so many awesome products, it's really hard to choose!

Anyway, I am getting way ahead of myself here. I am so excited about our upcoming move and all of the great creative play possibilities that I forgot to tell you about the amazing product I just bought for my kids. A few weeks ago, I ordered the Step2 LifeStyle Grand Walk In Kitchen for Sophie and Xander. They already have a smaller kitchen from Step2, but now that they're both actively toddling, I wanted to give them more room to play together and minimize the fighting. The LifeStyle Grand Walk In Kitchen allows plenty of space to to move around in, and endless possibilities for budding culinary geniuses to whip up their latest creations. Who says there can't be 2 chefs to one great kitchen? This positively roomy kitchen from Step2 allows just that.

On top of being luxuriously spacious, this product offers a ton of realistic features and conveniences that modern day real kitchens have!

Here are just some of the fun features that the LifeStyle Grand Walk In Kitchen has to offer:

  • Deluxe kitchen features an attached dining area; encourages multi-child play inside and out
  • Appliances feature a pretend grill and electronic microwave and stove top burner
  • Realistic "oak hardwood" foam flooring provides realism and comfort
  • Spacious "granite-look" counter tops
  • Large sink has realistic swivel faucet with push button
  • 11.75" (29.8 cm) high stool enhances the counter top dining experience (stool design and height may vary slightly)
  • Includes 104-pc. accessory set (accessories and play food may vary
  • Durable, poly construction wipes clean and lasts for years
  • Requires 4 AA and 2 AAA batteries (not included)
  • Adult Assembly Required
Here's a sample photo of all of the food and accessories that come with this kitchen. It's 104 pieces! Sophie and Xander love playing with the various food items, and they even pretend to eat them. The hot dogs seem to be a big hit here. They also love the collander, pots and pans, as well as the serving accessories. Items may vary, but I promise you'll be quite happy with what you receive!

When our LifeStyle Grand Walk In Kitchen arrived, my husband literally had to sneak it up to our playroom to assemble. You see, my kids know that when the REALLY big boxes with a "2" on them come in, they're in for a real treat. My 2 and a half year old knows the Step2 logo and name by heart already. Like I said, we're big Step2 fans in my household!

My husband stealthily snuck both boxes up the stairs while I distracted the kids, and he had the kitchen assembled and ready to go within about 30 minutes. It would have been quicker, but he was busy "oohing" and "ahhing" over all of the great accessories and features. Plus, we had to locate the batteries. Since we have already begun packing things, finding even simple items is quite the challenge! My only complaint? One of the metal hanging hooks was missing. This is more aesthetic than anything, as the metal "pegs" were included and are functional.

Once the decals were in place, the food was unwrapped and the "hardwood floor" was lovingly installed, it was time to introduce the kids to their brand new kitchen. Kyle, my 12 year old, and Sophie, my 2 and a half year old, spent hours playing together. My youngest son, Xander, was asleep for this initial unveiling. Don't worry, though. I will be posting video of both toddlers playing together in the kitchen soon!

Here are some photos from the initial unveiling. Again, please pardon the surrounding mess. We're in the process of sorting about 5 tons of baby clothes and toys to prepare for moving as well as donating.

Check out how HUGE this kitchen is!
I love the fact that this kitchen came with serving pieces and a pot-holder! Notice the one metal hook on the left was missing. It still works fine, though! Yes, that's a very over-flowing toy box in the background.
Picture
One of my favorite things about this kitchen is the "wood" flooring! It looks very real, although it's a heavy duty foam, and wipes clean very easily with just a rag and some water. Sophie loves the floor, too!
Picture
The LifeStyle Grand Walk In Kitchen also has a fun range and grill surface for cooking fun! When you place the pot or pan on the burner, it even makes a realistic bubbling sound! How cool is that?! I also love that there are oven knobs to control the "temperature". No one wants burned food!
Picture
The Step2 folks have thought of everything, once again. This deluxe kitchen also has a ton of built-in storage for all of the food, accessories, and cookware. There are fully functional cabinets, at both the top and bottom, as well as drawers, storage bins, and a refrigerator, too!
Picture
Here's a better look at the stove, fridge, and storage bins. There's a sink there, too, and it even has a push-button style to it for added authenticity!
Picture
Check out the microwave! How cute is that?! Yes, it opens and closes, too! Like I said, this is the ultimate imaginary kitchen with all the bells and whistles a little chef could ask for!
Picture
Here's another view of the fridge. Sophie left it open. Can't be too good for the imaginary electric bill!
Picture
The eat-in counter and stool are also a really nice touch. I love that one child can cook up a meal and serve it to their friends. They can even use the phone to take orders. This would be a great play cafe! Just add a cash register and some play money, and you're in business!

Here are some photos of Kyle and Sophie making a mess of...oops, I mean exploring...the LifeStyle Grand Walk In Kitchen!

You really shouldn't put metal in the microwave, Sophie!

Orange you happy Mommy bought you this kitchen?!

Coffee and cookies and eggplant? Interesting combination!

Sophie really loves the oranges!

Time to clean up!
As you can see, there are about a zillion reasons to love the LifeStyle Grand Walk-in Kitchen! From a wide variety of foods and accessories to realistic features that would even make Paula Deen herself swoon, this is the Rolls Royce of play kitchens. I love the quality and durability, as well as the wonderful amount of space this kitchen provides. The Grand Walk-in Kitchen allows both of my toddlers to play in harmony and expand their creative palates. The other great thing about this kitchen is that it grows with your children. It's large enough that toddlers and grade school kids alike can enjoy cooking for years to come in their very own kitchen!

Have you been eyeing the Step2 Grand Walk-in Kitchen? Guess what? It's on sale this weekend for a huge discount! From now until Monday, May 28,2012, you can score this beauty for a mere $188! That is a huge savings! And trust me, this kitchen is well worth the price!
