All opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** ![]() Do you have a smart phone? Have you ever found yourself needing to make a call, just to find your battery has been totally drained? It always seems to happen at the worst possible times, I've found. I had this very thing happen to me in November. I was on my way home from a blogging trip for Maytag, and my mother-in-law was meeting me at Chicago O'Hare. See, this is my husband's biological mother, who we had not gotten to meet yet. Sadly, I was on this trip by myself, so my hubby and kids still haven't met her to this day. Since I had a layover in Chicago, she readily agreed to come meet me for the first time. I was really excited, and getting to give her a hug was something I was really looking forward to. Of course, as soon as I arrived in Chicago, my phone was dying. I called my husband and tried to reach my mother-in-law, and then BAM! No battery. So I literally had no idea where she was, what she was wearing, or where I was supposed to meet her. She couldn't reach me...I couldn't reach her, and my husband had no idea where to tell her to go. I ended up walking around aimlessly for well over an hour before I finally spotted her. (Thank goodness I did, though!) Since I do tend to travel for my blog several times a year, I decided I needed a little back-up for my iPhone so this wouldn't happen again. So I started doing a little research on portable charging devices, and I discovered eFreesia. This awesome company offers several solutions for on the go charging. With their Bar, Mini, and Duo models, you never need to worry about running out of juice at the most inopportune times. I received the eFreesia Duo for review, and when it arrived, I was very impressed by the compact size of the unit. It's about the same size as an iPhone 5, and slips into a purse or pocket for easy accessibility. There are 2 built-in micro-USB cables, so there is no need to drag a zillion wires around, either! (You will need a wire for Apple devices like an iPhone, but there is one included in the box.) This product is compatible with most smart phones as well as iPads and other tablet devices that require lower battery levels. The really neat part? It can charge two devices at once! I have charged both my iPhone and my iPod Touch at the same time using the Duo, and was shocked by how quickly my mobile devices recovered battery power. Take a look at the following infographic to see how the eFreesia Duo works: The unit has power indicator lights that show when it needs to be charged. I used this for a week between charges, and it worked very well. Charging is simple and relatively fast as well, so I can charge my unit while in my hotel room while traveling. There is even an automatic shut off feature, so you don't need to remember to turn it off when you're done using it. Total genius, if you ask me! Overall, I am very pleased with my eFreesia Duo. It's very compact and lightweight, which makes it ultra-portable. It also charges my mobile devices fairly quickly. I have used this to charge my iPhone, iPod Touch, and my BlackBerry PlayBook tablet and have had wonderful results every time. The only thing I would change is the fact that there isn't an integrated iPhone cable. Maybe in future models? Nonetheless, this product has been nothing short of a lifesaver, and I know that when I have my eFreesia Duo in tow, I will never have to worry about being unreachable while traveling again! How to Connect : You can check out the awesomeness that is eFreesia on their website. You can also follow them on Facebook, on twitter, on Pinterest, and on Google+ to stay on top of their latest products and promotions! Enter to WIN : I am thrilled to announce that one lucky reader will be receiving an eFreesia Duo charger of their own!

My mom and I went on an outing together, and we used the GPS in my iPhone to get there. On the way home, I realized my phone was out of battery, but we knew the way so I wasn't concerned. Then my mom took a wrong turn, and suddenly the phone died. We had no GPS, and didn't know how to get back!

Yes, I ran out of juice on a long road trip with the kids. I didn't have my cord with me to recharge and ended up stopping at a Target to pick up a car charger as I didn't want to be on the road without communication in case I should break down.
